So how many Hot Lava Monograms?

Someone said "extremely rare." it is is a manual.
It is manual, monogram, hot lava, 2014.
How few might there be? I know there are 2000 monograms per year and knew that the number includes all colors.
Is there any place to go to find out what they release each year?
I coudln't find that.
I just bought this car on 8/4/15 btw.

If you're talking about leftover parts from a race car build, they are often posted in the member classified section. Michele Abbate posted almost the entire interior of her car there. There's another one active right now.

If you're talking about parts left over from the crash test, I suspect they're either destroyed or sent to a junk yard.

You can find seats from race car part outs. Engine parts would be more of a challenge, since most of the engine will be used in the race car. For engine and drive train I would look for junk yard parts on the car-part.com parts search.

The unofficial statement made has always been that the Lavas are 5% of the production build. There are no break downs of how many are MT vs AT so let's just call it 50/50. That would mean there are (or were depending on crashes) probably about 50.
Now don't get too excited and think that makes it rare and way more valuable since rare does not always equal expensive. The fact that it is a monogram does increase the value marginally but there just isn't enough difference to put it through the roof. Because it is a Lava it could actually be less valuable then the other monograms since it is not one of the "popular" colours. There is a reason they are only such a small percentage of production.
The collectability of these cars is still totally up in the air so it is very possible it is a horrible investment if somebody is buying it on speculation.
So in summary, drive it, enjoy it, tell all your buddies it is a rare version but don't think of it as an investment but just a really fun and great looking car.

This number is still very exciting. To me, this car is one that I will keep forever. I see it maintaining its appeal for decades. I love the color and I care about the exclusivity of it only for my own purposes. "Flipping cars" without "fixing cars" is not a good investment ever. If I thought I could make a quick buck on this car, I'd have already thought someone who knew more about it than me would have done so already.
"Around 50" is a very nice number.
Thanks Tcoat.

This photo was really useful seeing as I am about to install a driver side gauge pod pillar. Thanks!

I would say that Tcoat's estimate of 50 is very close. I wish we had an official breakdown of monograms produced.

If anyone is having a hard time determining if their car is a monogram, it might help looking at the seats. While it is possible for someone to swap in a BRZ interior, the BRZ seats are not identical to a monogram. The monogram seats have the "space invaders" embroidered into them like the GT86. So for someone to make a real monogram copy, they would have to import GTS seats.

.
Could be even less since the proportion of MT to AT is probably not 50/50. There are usually more ATs imported into the States but since we don't know for sure we have to wing it.

Wow I love that seat! Anyone have a VIN I can borrow to order myself a set of these seat covers?

I think you would have to get the whole seat.
The seats were one of the reasons I wanted a Monogram and why I was pissed they didn't offer the Lava ones in Canada.

You would probably save a lot of money just going with brz seats.

I work at Toyota so I'd be able to confirm the pads are the same part number or not. As far as I know I should just be able to replace just the seat covers...

Watching with interest even though I have seat covers installed now.. The clazzio leather are nice but this would be even better.
