RPMs for best 0-60

What are the best RPMs to shift at for the best 0-60? Please include the RPM rev to start from in 1st gear too. (I know this isn't a straight-line racing car, but I'm just curious.)

My buddy wanted to race his new Volt against my FR-S. I didn't pull ahead too much, and I'm wondering if I'm not shifting well, or if the torque of the Volt makes it an even match.

He also wants to race his 2004 Cadillac CTS, which on sixty to zero website says is about the same in time as the FR-S, but I don't know how accurate that website is. I think the Caddy has 220 or 240 hp, not sure of torque.

Okay, so more possibly dumb questions. ..

1. Will turning off TC or hitting VSC sport actually improve my speed in a straight line to 60? (I don't plan on turning them off during turns. ) When we raced I had everything on.

2. So shift at redline, but what about rpm from neutral to entering first? Too little and slow start? Too much and wheels spin without moving me forward?

Get the revs to 7,400 RPM, then drop the clutch. That's the only way to launch these cars.

Why do you want to race 0-60 your not going to prove anything? If you want to race your friend, race on the track not on the street. Level out the playing field, we all know these cars aren't fast in the straight line. Except the dude that built the 13 sec. All motor Twin.

"Assuming you are at a drag strip." Turn your Traction control off rev up to 7400 like @husker741 said and make sure you don't put your car in a wall.

Launch at 4500, shift at 7200. You'll always be in the power band then.
