If it is possible then I might build a FA24 block and mate it to the FA20 heads.

I've heard people say the 86 is more balanced with its front end.

I'm not so sure.

Its far simpler, which certainly gives the impression of balance, but I do appreciate the effort that's gone into the BRZ.

Having the eyelash headlight reflect the theme of those switch back angles on the bumper, and I do actually feel like the smile in this case suites the lumpy side eyes of the car and bonnet - the inner bonnet lines are accented by the way the bumper matches its inwards curve.

I dont really know if i like the GR86 nose more than the BRZ.

I DID like the first gen 86 nose better than the first gen BRZ though, but this second gen...im not so sure. I actually like the BRZ nose.

The unveiling was delayed, but only by 3 months or so. Typical media adding their spin and speculation as usual.

I was curious if Toyota US had published a website for the GR86 yet so I checked. No GR86 yet, but they do still have this spot in their actual vehicle carousel UI element, under the "Upcoming Vehicles":

Hopefully we'll get news on it sometime this year.

One of the things I noticed was the change in spec to 12.5 to 1 compression.

It was 13.5 on the BRZ US fact sheet wasn't it?

Yeah we were kinda going back and forth about this.

Something got lost in translation somewhere so we dont actually know who has the real numbers:

The Subaru BRZ reveal back in late 2020 stated 13.5:1 CR and 228hp
The GR86 looks like it says 12.5:1 CR and 232hp.

The motor is going to be exactly the same everywhere but which reveal has the real numbers? lol

I think 12.5 is correct because the HP/l of the engine is actually slightly lower than the FA20

I feel like the back-end would look much better with a simple relocation of the rear-plate to where the Toyota logo is (more similar to the placement of the license plate on the Gen 1).
Cleans up that weird droopy thing in the rear "faux-diffuser" area, and gets rid of that flat expanse of negative space in the trunklid.

If I weren't so lazy (and incompetent), I'd photoshop it and post.

It's like if Subaru re-branded the BRZ as STI BRZ
