I would assume shouldn't be an issue. Other tuning can technically disable and enable those kind of things and STX class allow tuning.

Hang tight guys. Beastronix is not gone forever! May be a few months, but should be before the season starts for most of the country.

I thought you couldn't disable ABS but turns out you can per 14.6.D so probably a gray area and a definite weenie protest since it doesn't do anything not already programmed into the car except for killing the ABS.

Doesnt Beastronix just enable "Padal Dance Mode?" That doesn't disable ABS.

It has a mode that disables ABS to prevent Ice Mode from happening.

Unfortunately, for STX it potentially runs afoul of the "and nothing else" portion of the rule for systems that disable ABS electronically (the only legal way to do so).

If it were JUST pedal dance, you might be able to argue that it's an ABS disable feature, with a convenience option to do pedal dance the easy way (since you DO NOT NEED the device to do pedal dance)

With the fan switch mode, it might be too many 'convenience' features.

Anyone that protests for it is a pathetic sore loser, but...

Unless it is easy to break out each of the features into a separate box that's daisy-chained on the OBD circuit, you're taking a chance in STX with this.

I'd definitely be interested in acquiring one again - I sold my old one when I had to get the new car because the 17+ hadn't been resolved at the time... though disabling ABS turned nasty ice mode into flat-spotting, I've worked on my braking technique a LOT since then.

Openflash tablet can disable traction control and ice mode too, correct?

It bothers me that both functions being in the same box is what matters. They're on separate switches, so each switch does only one function.

Write the board. This isn't the place for a discussion on the merits of the rule as written, but in this case: I agree. I don't know what caused the rule to be written that way though. The combo oil cooler/radiator is also not legal, same fundamental reason.

Yup. That's what I do now when I need to - I usually put it to the floor vent and stuff my helmet under while I'm at it, helps dry it out and keeps it cool. My 86nanny only had PD/ABS (and tpms light) features...

I'll also be writing a letter along the way, but need a little more research.
For that matter, I'll be testing PD at the spring test-n-tune, whether I have an 86nanny or not.
