My recent searches have resulted in a huuuuge variety. But thinking I'll skip the monitor packaged in with Dell and buy one elsewhere

To me the size of the panel isn't as important as the resolution. I would never buy a 27" monitor that's less than 2560x1440 (the one exception being a 21:9 aspect ratio display at 2560x1080).

My main desktop is using a 27" 2560x1440 monitor (one of the Korean ones, a Shimian) and I'll continue using that until the 21:9 3440x1440 displays come down in price. But I'll probably need to factor a new desk into that cost as well >_>

Excited for it, I only played New Vegas once (I didn't really understand Fallout at the time) but I'm pretty excited for it. The trailer looks amazing and probably was made using the game engine so the graphics should hopefully look pretty similar.

I use dual 27" 1920x1080 monitors combined with the 2160x1440 monitor of Surface Pro 3 at work and think they are fine but I would definitely not mind if they had a higher resolution. Then again I'm not gaming on them either.

At home I have 3 23" monitors running 5760x1080 (see screen shot above from New Vegas) and I actually prefer that to a single larger monitor because I have them angled about 30 degrees from each other. That is more natural to me than a single wide flat surface. The middle monitor is hooked to a KVM so I can switch between my computer and my work computer dock when working from home.

4K televisions would also make decent monitors more than likely. I'm actually thinking of going that route when I upgrade my computer next. I have used smaller 1920x1080 tv monitors (up to about 27") in budget/casual situations and the work fine. We use large format TVs (up to 80") for monitors in just about all our conference rooms at work.

I also use my home 70" Vizio with a wireless display adapter and a Surface Pro for casual web surfing or the occasional YouTube browsing (I find it easier than the built-in apps, and well, I'm just that Geeky). We also take the Surface Pro and the wireless adapter on vacation for watching Netflix, etc.

For those that may care, since we are on the subject, Steam has the Fallout series on sale through the weekend (June 8) for stupid low prices. All the way from 1 through New Vegas.

Time to catch up before 4 comes out!

Im kind of pissed, i recently upgraded to the xbox 1, sold off my ps3, and my computer is a college kids laptop, so im lucky to run AOE3.

No real hope for me replaying fallout 3 or even starting new vegas in my future till 4 comes out :/

Altough best DLC i have ever played in a game, ever, was Operation Anchrage. Point lookout was the weird cousin that you couldnt stop staring at (I.E. playing) motership zeta was long as fack and was interesting to say the least lol.

Coming from a kid who is taking out loans for college with barely enough money for gas, thats going to have to wait...for a long while lol Id love to build my first computer but i dont have the resources yet. Need to keep collecting those caps.
