I thought about omitting this little thing from the application packet but in case I ever get a job needing a secret or TS clearance, and they found out I didn't include this, I'd get discharged at best. At worst, face some serious USMJ penalties. I'd figure less than honorable/medical discharge is going to hurt me for the rest of my working life.
If it was already a matter of record, you made the right call.

Ya know, soulreapersteve, something just doesn't sound right here.

I find it difficult to understand why you would be rejected for medical reasons, because of a past muscle sprain in your foot -

I had to pee in a jar. They didn't do anything but look at it, say "yep that is urine" and dump it down a sink but I had to do it.

Reminds me of a mass physical down in Fort Knox, KY, when I was a cadet. They herded about 200 of us into a hangar and had us take all our clothes off and gave us a small bag for out valuables.

When I got to the urine checking station they handed us a jar and had us pee in it then stand in lines in front of four females, who took our jar of urine and stuck a bobber in it. If it floated, we were good to go.

I wondered what was going through the minds of those poor girls -

A lot of people are telling me if anything was marked "yes", a waiver would have to be granted nowadays. If the CG doc says I'm good but the MEPS doc says no still, guess any military career plans are over before it started...

I got DQ'd at MEPS for medical reasons too. worst part is I didn't even find out what my real problem was until almost 6-7 years later.

Wow, that really sucks...

Was it a serious or minor issue, if you don't mind me asking.

I would suspect it was due to deep seated obsessive reasons.

turns out I was hyperthyroid(super over active 6x+). got it killed with radiation and now I'm hypothyroid(no thyroid) so I take a pill everyday to replace it.
