Color LCD/TFT gauge cluster display

ok... so i want something like this, but I dont really need the data logging ability...
[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJt6uLqKga8"]Motec C125 color display logger - YouTube[/ame]

is there anything available for less than $500 or close? I`m just tired of looking at the analog gauge cluster on my car, and I need a way to monitor oil temp on my occasional track days.

I want pretty color display, and I would probably install it in front of the gauge cluster, on top of the steering column.

I guess one way is to run the torque app on a small tablet?

I know it is pretty expensive, but I really love our motec in our race car. We are currently using the older model that is sitting in the background of that video and it displays our oil and water temps, AFR, some gps data for tracking purposes. Sometime the data logging feature comes in handy though.
From what I've seen with torque, as long as you have accurate sensors instead of some of the stock ones (like Wide band) It works quite well

Okay I totally take that back after seeing some of the new prices on Motec dashes. Forgive me, hah, I'm a powertrain lead, not in the business subsystem. I dont think I'd spend that for my own car even for track use. I would take a couple gauges instead.

yea they are ungodly expensive. I`m sure they do the job well for race teams but... all I want is just a pretty digital gauge to look at lol.

Grab a cheap nexus 7 and Bluetooth obd dongle. Install Torque. The tablet fits nicely in front of the cluster. You will just need some DIY mounts. I have seen some to mount the tablet on the center stack that may work with some tweaking http://www.gt86mounts.com/
