You're driving a fun car. SMILE!

Where you all at? I get the same reaction when I see a BRZ/FR-S. Although interestingly enough most of the people I see driving the FR-S are female.

I usually drive my 86 to work so you'll see me driving around Fremont near the Tesla factory

I'm in Santa Clara by the university, commuting to Sunnyvale for summer work. Haven't seen any lately, however...

Same situation, but I was at a red, and he asked "I thought Scion only made the car that looks like a box."

I roughly explained the whole Toyota - Scion situation. He laughed and said I schooled him. Then he started telling me about a murder in the area the other night, and how they don't know what happened, but there was a ton of blood. That made me nervous...

He never asked for anything, but these days I only keep a single $20 in my wallet for a haircut and tip. I'm waiting for the day that I tell someone I have no cash on me, then they pull out a phone and CC reader.

I guess I do feel a little guilty though. The area I live was hit hard by the recession and doesn't seem to have recovered.

If you feel guilty, donate to the food banks and homeless shelters in your area! I no longer give money out to people at the end of highway offramps or street lights.

Call me paranoid and I don't know people's situations, but I've seen way too many supposed homeless around here with iPhones and what appeared to be house keys. If its not busy and out of my way, I buy food and double back around to give it to them.

About 60% of the ones on the ramps and lights here are not homeless at all.
They are this:

They are this:

This whole time, I've been giving food to cops.

Hope they didn't get the runs from the taco bell stuff...

The other day I ran into a school-mate, and he started commenting on my car, saying stuff like, "Dude that thing is so sick!", and tying it off with "Man, I wish I could have one of those..." I just answered him saying "You know, you have a nice car (newish Jetta), now you just need a job and you'll be able to sell your car and yourself get something more fun " He hasn't worked for months, so I can't really sympothize.

On another occasion, I went to a church parking lot to throw out some quick donuts. What i didn't know was that my bishop (Mormon congregation leader) was just around the corner and was just leaving the building. He pulled up next to me after I'd stopped and said, "I'm only mad because I can't do that in my minivan..." We had an unexpected moment of car-talk for a bit, and then I drove up to a local canyon to bomb it.

I was driving home from work the other day when I passed a guy at an intersection in a blue Focus RS (only the second one I've seen on the street). He turned and was coming the same direction I was going. He caught up to me about half a mile later. We both rolled our windows down while driving to briefly complement each others cars before going our own way.It was actually pretty cool.

Exchanged hand waves with a black Miata (branded as MX-3) exiting the Yorkdale Mall parking lot yesterday evening. Too bad the other white BRZ ignored the both of us.
