All the stu wrx's are swapping to cs brz's for next season, so there'll be at least 4 strong cs brz's next year (we all picked different colors so far at least).

I'm in the Dallas area and I would like to get into autocross but I don't really know where to start. I'm not really interested in competition, mostly just improving my driving skills and having a some way of quantifying my abilities and progress. Not to mention I bet it'll be a lot of fun.

You're a little out of season but no worries! I recommend the SCCA events for novices as they are very beginner friendly. (not that others aren't) The SCCA just has a slower paced and more encouraging feel to me. I don't modify to spec for a class like a lot of people do here, but you'll have fun regardless. I just go to drive fast for cheap. It's a great way to learn the limits of your car. I wish they required people to do this before they got a license. |

Dfwautocross.com had a calendar with all the local clubs' events, most have a novice school at the start of the new season. Sign up, come out, meet us, and have fun. We'll help you get started and faster.

Great! My name is Sam, I drive a red 2014 brz and have been an autocross instructor for the past four years.
I try to make it to nearly all the events, so don't hesitate to come find me. I and nearly all the racers I know love to encourage and help new drivers. |

OK looks like I've joined the slow crew. It's nice to have a car that will actually turn in autocross!

He was at Brandon Tomes earlier tonight. Apparently they were telling him about this crazy person who traded in a 2010 wrx and made them swap out a ton of parts without paying them anything!

Haha! I like how it says that both Sam and Chase still drive WRX's on their profile. :/
