i always liked the aztek on the outside. but i hated the 'copy-pasted from another model by GM' inside.

It was purposefully-ugly.
But that GM interior - it's one of the biggest reasons why I never could bring myself to buy one of the first gen Toyota Matrix XRS (Matrices?)/Vibe GTs, despite liking the exterior and the engine.

The interior isnt bad in those.
They're still way better than pure GM trash at the time.

But of course Toyota was also going into the cheap trash interior material phase as evidenced by the second generation MAtrix....ugh. I really dislike the interiors of the Toyotas of that generation. Material quality was terrible.

My wife had one - maybe for GM, the quality was a step up... But coming from a long line of Toyotas (Dad was a Toyota and Lexus salesman), just looking at the buttons and the fonts was enough to make me look elsewhere.
But you're totally right on that era's Toyota interiors - they were bad, with lots of scratch-magnet hard plastics.

I was initially skeptical about the new design, but I have come around I think. Especially that digital dash cluster.

I’ve fully come around on the look. Silver was not the best color to showcase it with, but the blue prototype makes the car look way better. Also seeing some real photos and videos of the car and not the press photos has helped.

I do hope they bring back red as a paint option. Yellow would be cool to see as well, as long as it’s the right shade.

They have to bring back red. There hasn't been a Series.Red special edition yet.

I saw a CTR and didn’t find my self repulsed but instead a moderate amount of respect.

If we can all learn not to whence at a CTR, we can grow to love this thing.

I'm starting to like it maybe a little too much...
And the wheels! They actually look GREAT, and not like the wagon-wheels on my '17 PP.

As for the IS... well, what can you do? The designers had to update the car without spending any money. The taillights are a little low. I like the front end. But yea, the rear is a little frumpy.
