In Canada, you can't get a 2018 Limited BRZ (Sport-Tech, here) with 6MT. You have to either get the Premium (Base) or the PP (Sport-Tech RS) if you want a manual transmission. I think the vast majority of the 2018 BRZs being sold in Canada will be PP configuration cars.

First of all, the PP is an absolute freaking bargain, a steal even, for $1200 you get a BBK that's probably valued at closer to $3k (based on similar kits put together or sold from Brembo for our cars), not to mention the wider wheels that clear the brakes, and the shocks. You're looking at a $1200 package for $4k+ worth of equipment.

IF you step up to a Limited BRZ, I see absolutely no reason NOT to get the PP.

The BRZ Premium is totally worth it. My car is basically a BRZ Premium, it's base model/basic af, and includes none of the extras that people like me don't want from the Limited/GT. I'm just saying, IF you want that stuff, you might want the PP too, and that makes the BRZ the better option, if you want that stuff. If you don't want that stuff, it's really a wash between the BRZ Premium and base 86, depending on what accessories you want, which bumper, which spring rates, which touch screen.

Now the BRZ gets CarPlay too, which puts the 86 at an even greater disadvantage thanks to Toyota's tremendously questionable decision to continue to push their own crappy infotainment system and deny buyers Android Auto/Apple CarPlay across their Toyota and Lexus lines. A decision like that is sure to ruin sales figures.
OE Brembos are not in the same league as aftermarket kits in terms of cooling and heat capacity usually. And you dont need rear Brembos with the proper front BBK. Plus im just gonna swap to coils so strut upgrade doesnt matter. And the wheels are OK looking but stocks dont bug me for daily.

So there are reasons not to get the PP if getting a BRZ limited. I was looking into upgrading and had this argument with myself already and didnt feel the need to spend the extra cash.

2018s starting to come in? Not sure if this is a base 2018 or just a dealer using 2017 pics.

Ya it is odd how they did it.
Base MT only.
Sport Tech AT only
RS MT only
TS MT only
They are certainly after different demographics with each version.

Late to the game, but I knew that PP wasn't coming to new 86 since last yr.

They have something up their sleeves though... but I wouldn't hold my breath on it.

I hope you are not referring to that mustang as being a good buy lol because that would be rich... 662hp on a solid rear axle... You must be very brave sir.

So is that something not coming soon? Or something not worth trading in a 86 for?

That's all up to everyone.

Some members have more goodies already, so might not worth trading... while some members just like new things and like to trade even for minor things. So again, that's all up to each person.

Supra is something I have literally no clue on. There's a rumor that Supra gonna be showing up at Geneva... BUT my guess is, prob not. EVEN they show it at Geneva, still concept design and not the final production. Final production ver reveal will be happening in private. Cuz how complicated current Toyota is (w GR, TRD & overall Toyota Global)

Perhaps a tS-equivalent for the 86?
