Simple answer is no I would not buy a new FRS again.

Buying new cars are retarded when you can find excellent used cars for around $8 - 15k.

The only reason I bought this new car is because at that time there was no used frs' or similar cars available.

The only other car I liked was the S2000 but I can't handle convertible cars and I need the extra trunk space for work.

If I could do it again, I would have bought a 95-04 Tacoma. Before the FRS I had a 89 Toyota pickup that I loved but was a little on the ratty side.

I'm not sure. I love my FR-S, but I think my next car might be a GT350R. Of course that likely will mean getting rid of the FR-S and I'm not sure I can part with her.

If I didn't have that car in mind, would I get this one again, yes!

I'm not buying another brz/frs/gt86. One of my goal was to learn to drive a manual with a well balanced rear wheel drive car. I was just fortunate to be able to do this with one of my dream cars. My next car is a gt4.

Thinking the same about the GT350. Something about a V8 speaks to me, probably from mid-sixties crush on the original Mustang Fastback. Besides, at my age, it might be my last chance. But make no mistake, I love my FR-S, and don't think it can be beat for the money.

I bought this car new and it was a great experience. It may be my last new car.

The next will be a used successor to the FRS/BRZ

Interesting choice. I have been following the GT4 concept with great interest but to date they have still not even announced that they are actually going to build it much less when (Please do not send any links that are not official Kia ones since ALL the rest are pure speculation no matter who they say they quoted). The official Kia site still shows the car as a concept only.
I am also a bit concerned that the production version (should they decide to actually produce it) will be way off the concept that they have presented. I am not convinced they can putout production model in the $25K range that the speculation sites are saying. Since Kia has not said one official word on price I bet it will come in much higher.

Same here. Next one will be a gently used car, letting the original owner take the initial deprecation hit.

I don't regret it, but I definitely wouldn't do it again. I went into it knowing I was going to have to mod the car to be happy with it, and that I did.

What I didn't expect is what a headache it would be, especially when you have adult responsibilities. I wanted the experience, I got the experience.

I'm either going to buy something practical and keep this car (and build the hell out of it) or I'm gonna buy a C6 Z06 or something like that.

I was under the assumption he meant gt4 as in this:

http://tinyurl.com/nuq4fnc

Which made me think not good thoughts about someone who gets this car(frs) as their first puts it down in front of other owners and brags about how he will soon replace it with a car that costs 4 times as much. Maybe it was a joke, if so understood. Maybe he meant the KIA, if so makes a bit more sense.
Everyone's also right to have their own opinion. I just think that if you took a scientific poll of owners even just new ones you would find a much different result than the report.

Oh, I didn't even think of that GT4. You are right though if that is the one then the whole post changes meaning.

I will probably trade mine in for the new Ford Focus RS in a few years, unless turbo BRZ comes out.

Yeah I'm 45 and the wife is due for the next ride in the family, so come 4-5 years from now a 350R might be my one and only shot at an icon.

We almost got into the trap of you get a car this year me in a few years. We compromised with the FRS I paid 15 for with 45 k miles on it. And a 2013 soul she paid 11,5 for at carvana. She save so much buying from carvana. I looked for a carvana FRS but only an auto came thru. All in tell we have little over 26 k in two cars one with 45 k and one with 10 k on it. You can swing two cars if you don't want brand new ones. We couldn't done that new
