I can't recall a 2-door coupe I've owned since 1980 that didn't have the memory feature. It just means that if someone moves the seat forward to access the back seat, or tilts the seat-back forward to access the back seat, the front seat slides back to its original position, and the seat back returns to its original angle. I've had this feature on a 1980 Honda Accord Hatchback, my 1986 Subaru XT Turbo, my 1988 Subaru XT6, and my 1995 Subaru SVX. My wife's Mazda RX8 has it as well.

Usually, there's a separate "seat release" lever on the side of the seat-back for this purpose, rather than the nylon loop pull that the BRZ has toward the bottom rear of the seat. At first I thought maybe the nylon pull would provide a "memory-return" function, but no such luck.

I'll have to get in the habit of putting things in on the passenger side.

My s14 had this...I think.

I know for a fact the Fiat 500 has the seat memory feature.
(I work for FIAT and hate those lil cars)

I agree with the unspoken rule about only accessing on the passenger side. lol

What? This car doesn't have that feature? lame. Even the civic coupes have it. Every 2 door euro hatch I've seen has this feature as well (golf, gti, etc). Well I guess I'll just deal, probably won't need to move the seats.;

Every 2 door coupe, manual or power seats, that I have ever driven has had a separate rear seat entry lever that would return the driver's seat to its original position after the rear passenger entered.

If some of the worst drawbacks to this car end up being issues like this then I think I'm going to be very happy with it.

All vehicles I've ever owned had seat memory. Do I care that his one doesn't....no. I won't be using the back seat myself ever. When it's time for the kids or crap to be put back there, they/it, always go through the wife's door anyway.

I noticed this right away on the FR-S and one of the guys posted that Tada said it was several lbs per seat (and cost) so they didn't do it. My 85 supra had it.

Also annoying there's no seat release/slide strap from the back.
