OFT on stock

Good day, guys! Sorry, just a newbie on this one. I was wondering if this is going to be a worth buy or if there’s any or even a little noticeable gain being used on a stock 17 brz, just with a catback exhaust. TIA!

I dynoed my 2017 before and after stage 1 complete stock: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2963580

Not worth unless you plan to get headers eventually except for maybe the redline if you do autocross

My experience with the Stage 1 tune, 3.02, was good on my stock 2017 86. Throttle response is better and it doesn't hang between shifts like the stock tune does occasionally. Does it change it into a rocket ship? No but I think there are more benefits than the numbers on the dyno suggest.

I think the best part of OFT is the ability to run E85 on an otherwise stock car - best bang for buck when it comes to a horsepower increase.

Yeah, this is also what I noticed. It hangs between shifts

IMHO if you are going to upgrade to stage 2 later, get the OFT as soon as you see a deal on one used. Stage 1 doesn't give you much, but it''l give you a little and you'll have the tablet for when you upgrade. It's definitely worth it for stage 2- big gains.

If you are never going to upgrade to catless, don't bother with the OFT. Stage 2 is for catless. Stage 1 is for catted. Stage 1 alone isn't worth an OFT.

I remember when I called Shiv regarding the 2017 tune he said stage 2 would be fine for catted header. I think this was version 2. Car runs smooth for me.
