Locked up engine

Anybody ever have an engine lock up but not blow up? On the front stretch at Summit Point, with no warning, I had a big noise and then no power. No smoke. No oil or coolant leaks. I coasted off the track. In the paddock, the engine could not be turned even with a big a$$ breaker bar.

I'm guessing part of the noise was 4th gear shearing off teeth.

I'm going back up on Friday to pick her up and start the post-mortem.

Damn, can’t really think of much that would cause that kind of failure and not show its insides on the outsides. Maybe something timing chain related? Hopefully it’s a transmission.

Thanks guys. If it's a weird problem, it will happen to me.

The engine has Manley rods so possibly something could seize and not expel the guts.

My wife is urging me to sell the car "as is" and get a Gen 2.
