afe takeda intake installed *updade need help*

I have had it for about a week and finnaly got the time to install it. Removing the stock intake ducting or whatever it's called was a bit of a pain. But the overall install went well. Pro tip for everyone. Dont drop your screwdriver because it was a pain to retive it without e z acces to removing the under panel

I decided to keep the sound tube just because I did not feel like taking the time to remove it. But I did not drill the hole for the sound tube portion of the housing. My girl has not been happy with how loud her Agency Power muffler drones in the 4-5k rpm range. So we wanted to see how keeping the tube blocked would help. I don’t know if it is a result of the intake alone or the sound tube. But the droning has subsided a lot. You can defiantly feel some extra power now. Not so much at the high end, but quite a bit in the mid RPM range. If I stomp on the gas about 5k I can hear the motor making a little bit more growl and feel a little more vibration in the pedal. Very surprisingly and unlike intakes I have had on other cars, there is no bogging and throttle is very smooth now, as appose to jerky. We are both extremely imprested with this intake and I will be taking it to my shop on Monday for a dyno run.

Also we did not do a computer reset or anything. With any luck we will see even more improvements of the next couple of days.

UPDATE
same as post on bottom of thread

Finally got the dyno done today and I am loosing massive power. I am loosing 6hp over stock and about 12 with my exhaust. We took everything off to see if i had something stuck on the filter or in the box and all was clear. I never reset the ECU after my install. I am going to leave the battery off tonight and see if resting it helps. gonna redyno it next Monday otherwise i have no clue whats going on.
I guess the power i thought it had was just the difference of me driving it around with only 1 person in the car. sense i never drive the thing i have no clue if had missing power the whole time or not. Or it cold be just because there is crap gas in it.

Lame for u not gettin the little man, my girl loves the guy and already put hers on.
My front bolt/washer likes to not grab on to the intake, i think i need a bigger washer or something. and I love that blue on the intake manifold cover.

Did you reuse the stock rubber grommets with metal inserts on the two mounting points of the intake?

I'd be intrigued to see if you make any gains on it. I didn't until I was up at 200whp with e85. Good luck!

Got it to! Love it so far. I've drilled the intake tube. At 4500 5000 it begin to be really loud inside the car haha I love it.

It's an SAA part (Subaru's OEM accessories division). Got it here.
