I would love a twin in a vibrant chartreuse.

It's not a twin but is this colour vibrant enough for you? This was my father's 180 Turbo Corsa with lots of "go" goodies. He painted it base coat gold, a couple of coats of chartreuse metal flake, (yes, flakes not just metallic) followed by several coats of clear. Each coat was hand sanded and rubbed by me!

This red would have been awesome

Really wish they had a little bit less flat colors. Something like the above.

Soul red crystal by Mazda. A stunning color but very fragile.

Are Toyota colors more resistant?

I've been watching a lot of YouTube documentaries on old cars and updated my limited knowledge of the Corvair. The 2nd gen had a lot going for it being a rear mounted flat engine. Apparently they cost more to make using that configuration and cars like Chevy II, and then Camaro and Nova were cheaper to make. Too bad, as Porsche has demonstrated you can achieve extraordinary performance using a rear mounted low slung engine and rear transaxle making the most of traction at the drive wheels and keeping the front light allowing greater flexibility in directional control. That 1st gen perpendicular axle was very low tech Beetle stuff which shouldn't have happened.

If it does have a true EL manifold this time that would explain the smoother higher pitch exhaust noise.

I hope the recent videos where Gushi says it’s natural sound are with the synthetic sound off. If that’s true I’m very pleased with the new sound, it almost sounds like a B- series motor. Then again no recording will tell us what a test drive will.

Same man. I was planning on getting a white GR86 but with the interior having silver accents I'll probably have to go dark blue

I think you can get a pretty good idea of what the engine sounds like from the Ken Gushi ride along videos on youtube.

I need to hear it in person, but from what i am hearing im not really liking it.

At first i thought i would prefer an i4's smooth sounds over the FA20's growl, but i have grown to like the FA20 growl.

This FA24 doesnt really sound like an i4 still, and it lost the growliness of the FA20 but its also high pitched and somewhat whiney sounding. It also sounds like fake synthetic noise...which (whether its true or not) is not desirable imo.

That's what I picked up from the latest videos from the track. The sound sort of reminds me of what Lexus pumps into their cabins. More of a higher frequency sound that is unnatural.

However, I DO NOT believe Ken when he says it is all real. I doubt he has any idea whether the sound generator is on or not. Toyota probably set up the car and never briefed him on that feature. I suspect it is turned on in the videos.

Here is the new BMW EV sound for M cars for comparison
