I'll throw my hat in for Autobahn full in IL. It was my first time there and I left tons of time on the table so I'm sure someone will be along shortly to crush this time.

next time around you should easily be under 2:50 especially with aero and e85

Very proud of this time, but now I need to get into the 17s. I know the car is capable as it is and have some ideas about where to pick up more time.

Ran 225 RS4s all last year and ended at an 18.9. Picked up the RPF1s for my first event last month, and ended up running them with the old RT615K+s they came with to very frustrating/disappointing results (consistent 20.2s). As soon as I got a fresh set of RS4s on the new wheels it was back to steady improvements, hitting a new PB on my first hot lap of the day and continuing from there.

I've attached a .csv and .kml of the lap from my Aim Solo logs.

Great time, Waterford is a very technical track. You'll be in the 17's by the end of the year no problem.

Here's mine for Waterford. It was the 5th lap of the day, but I had to end the session early for fuel starvation issues. That wouldn't have been the end, but the whole track was red flagged for my best friends Miata that got buried in the front concrete wall . Day was done for us after that. Optimal time was a 1:16.42 via AIM Solo II. Confident I'd break into the 16's if I had more than 5 laps that day.

Thank you! And likewise, that's a fantastic time. Where were you when I needed specific times to gun for lol

I think my next easy time gains will come from carrying more speed and forcing more rotation through T1, and then just continuing to be even braver on T5. If anything stood out to you in my video that I could work on I'd be happy to hear it.

If you have any datalogs you'd be willing to share that would be awesome as well, even just having GPS Speed for corner targets would be beneficial.

Well, take this with a big grain of salt because I believe we'd be the same time if our setups were the same but here's the biggest thing I see. Also unfortunately that was my first day with the Solo II and I don't think it saved any of the sessions, or at least I can't figure out how to export them.

Take a look at the racing line Alexander Doss takes entering Bluff Bend starting at @0:29 (
).

Note how he holds the far left side where he brakes and downshifts to 2nd. I've marked his line (roughly) in blue. You (and honestly I need to get better at this too) take more of the red line when braking, downshifting and entering the slow skeet-house turn. I believe taking his line would decrease time, being that you can carry significantly more speed going into and out of Bluff by holding the left edge instead of going over to the right.

Let me know if that seems clear.

*Edit* Also, I'd go much wider going into the front straight seen at like ~1:20 in your video. You should be on or near the rumble strips on the right side (Alex doss does the faster line at like ~1:27 in the video I posted above).

Oh this is a really good point, and I wasn't really thinking about this area at all while looking at potential time gains. That makes a lot of sense since you're entering T3 so slowly regardless. I've always approached bluff purely as a setup to my line through T3, I'll definitely give this a shot the next time I'm there.

That's a good point on the front straight as well. I think I have a tendency to underestimate speed differences between lines in areas where I'm at WOT regardless, but I managed to pick up time last year by widening my line out of the esses in a similar way.

Thank you for the feedback!

I kind of feel bad posting this because it's so close, but I'm also very proud of this improvement since my last time at the track. I made a last minute decision to attend a friend's private rental just days after running all weekend in the SCCA Time Trials at Gingerman. My intention was just to take it easy and have a relaxed afternoon after the stress of the weekend, and I set this time on my very first flying lap of the day.

Thank you again for the recommendation on T3, the line immediately made sense and I believe it helped both pace and consistency. I think the biggest improvements came from all of the high speed cornering practice I've had at Gingerman since the last time I ran Waterford. Pushing hard on T8+9 at Gingerman really improved my confidence carrying more speed into T1 and T5 at Waterford.

I also had an opportunity to run a friends car and am now VERY eager to get a set of coilovers and dial them in. After feeling them out first hand I believe that they may be able to push my car into 16s, especially with some stickier tires.

Dyno'd Blub this week. Had not been run since it came off the track at this event. Made 186whp. Motor is done. Felt down on power at high RPM but I didn't realize it was this bad. Wonder how much faster it would go with the 200whp it was making in 2019 when we first tuned it.

How many track miles have you got on your engine? Mine seems to be running the same after around 4000 miles.

~90k unknown miles from Carmax. About 95k now I think, mostly track. Still runs fine, just doesn't make the power it did to years ago when we first tuned it.

We're rebuilding it with forged bits. Kswap too rich for or blood.

No worries! Man, I wanted to get out there and run 16's this year but the cards just didn't fall into place (lots of weddings to attend). So it looks like you'll be holding that record here for a while! I'm parting the car out now, so let me know if you want anything off it.
