Now THAT - that sounds delicious.

Let's see. About 2000 miles away - three days. Hmmm. The fam and I would drive 3 1/2 hours for our favorite huevos rancheros. Even now, as the wife and I fall into the clutches of old(er) age, we'll drive the Brrrzz 3 hours to our favorite barbeque place in Luling. 3 days? No Biggie.

So anyone car to object to buying a cheap R3 with frame sliders for a first bike> A Ducati Diavel 1260 S is probably a weeeeeeeeeeee bit much to start on.

I've only found one way I like Asparagus otherwise it is an easy pass.

Dipped in Oil/Egg, Coated in a Garlic/Pepper/Parm/Panko and then baked on a wire rack. Spritzed with lemon.

An R3 would be good to learn on as a weekend toy. I dunno if I would want to DD it as it is a bit of a cramped riding position.

Something more upright like a Duke 390 might be easier to live day to day with.

Sorry & thanks to everyone who replied &/or PM me to extend your concern for me. If you wondering what happened, it's damn long & complicated, so I gonna keep it short & say it's family issue. Last week keeping my sanity wasn't easy & felt mentally... more like an emotionally unstable. I wanted to clear/organized my mind, so kept all & any social media out for a few days. Worse part is still to come... but it's still unknown when it'll happen, so told myself having an anxiety whole time won't be good for my health and calmed myself down. atm anxiety level is lowered, but I'm frustrated with the situation & how I cannot do anything about it.

No, I didn't get fired from my work. No, we didn't lose our house. No, my wife didn't give me a divorce paper, even though I prob annoyed the crap out of her. lol No, my dog or baby didn't die. They're both healthy and giving me & my wife a sleepless nights still. No, I didn't think of killing myself. Not once that thought came to my mind.

It'll be hellova rollercaoster is waiting this summer and not looking forward to it

If I was to DD it, I'd only be riding for 16 minutes a day! I'm a bigger guy (210lbs and 6'5") so I don't think any street bike is going to be comfortable for long cruises.

The problem I have with the KTM is the price. The only bikes I'm finding used are like $500-$8000 off the new price. Those bikes (around here) hold value really well so it isn't really worth getting one used with the current market. I know I'll eventually low slide it, so I don't want to spend more than 3.8k out the door. To me, once I hit 4k, I might as well get a new bike for an few hundred extra.

I'd looked for an RC390 or even an Adventurer. I love KTM's exposed rear half on their street bikes. However, KTM is kinda hard to find here as we only have a few dealers to the east a good 3-5 hours away. Looking online I can only find a Duke 200 instock. I guess I never though about if the bike market was like the car market ATM.

I tried a GSX250R and it was ok. A I felt like I had to maintain a more forward seat position than the R3- keeping in mind I didn't try them back-to-back. I've also heard that the bike doesn't allow much growth like other starter bikes in the category. I guess because it has less power and a lower end throttle response so while safer, you get boarded faster. The GSXR400 seems a little much.

I still need to try and Ninja and CBR300 still. On paper the R is looking better and availability is a bit easier though that could just be a childhood Superbike bia... and that Yamaha blue!

Hoping for the best (least bad?) outcome.

Oh shit. You are going to be a tight squeeze on anything without mods.

Wow! Just like me before I lost my knees and gave in to comfy married life.

Get a bike that feels too big for you and is at least a half liter. You'll soon wish for it to be taller and longer. They're all too small for us.

Btw, you need to buy the non-stringy variety of asparagus.
