Maximum Boost?

Does anyone know what the maximum boost (approximately?) that can be run on stock internals with the FRS?

10 psi on pump gas seems to be the safe limits. E85 has seen guys pushing 400-450 with upgraded fuel systems and such. Im guessing thats around 14-16 psi? Your tranny won't last long at those numbers unless you have AT

Has the auto actually been proven to hold more? Interested as im looking to push a bit of power soon and was worried about the trans going and there not being any real upgrade options for it in aussie

I know there is a place offering auto trans upgrades on here somewhere. If you had a manual, PAR engineering is in Australia.

Yeah but getting them to get me shipping quotes and no responses I haven't bothered took to long. And the other place that sells it wants about 1kUS just for shipping blows the price out a fair bit sadly.

I just would like to add, seeing the number of buys that blow up on stock motors; if you only have 91 available, 8psi should be your maximum safe boost level. I putz around on 8psi on e85 for daily driving and 12psi is my high boost map on e85.

Boost does not kill engines, Torque is what kills engines. You should be considering how much torque you will be producing and when in the power band you are making it. Too much too soon and you will bend your rods.

For low quality pump gas max is 6psi
For high quality pump gas max is 9psi
For E85 max is 12.5psi

Tune is so important and in low rpm high torque of PD superchargers ( above 10psi) make alittle stress on engine.

You need good tune plus oil cooler.

yes, I'm pretty sure the AT was proven to hold a good bit more power actually. Way too lazy to search and find the threads about it even though I could have done it by the time I finished typing this.

Minus the lower MPG and shitty availability in some areas it really is a bit of a "wonder fuel" for high compression engines.

It has a much higher knock resistance so you can run more aggressive timing and make more power safer. It also burns cooler which in turn keeps everything else cooler also giving more power and further decreasing the chances of knock.
