I wonder if I can have the mount made to where I could also put an afr and boost gauge beside that...

You don't need to. At least not for boost, according to dtm it is a boost gauge as well. It should be able to read your AFR from the factory sensor as well. I don't have a lot of details on the dtm. Only that it's a digital gauge that reads any channel from your canbus signal as well as anything the stock cluster would read. They seem to answer questions on their facebook though. What they have said to date is that it's customiseable and will have "extra features"

https://www.facebook.com/26610699357...2796048568439/

The motec on the other hand I can tell you about as that's what I'm putting in my car. However if you're complaining about the price of the DTM you won't like the motec price at all.

Mine I've got a jumper harness that makes it a plug and play replacement for the stock cluster. Just working on the housing at the moment. Ditto to the dtm it reads all the canbus channels, also does lap times off 10 htz gps sensor, g forces and has room to be upgraded with pretty much any sensor you can think of.

It works in conjunction with my ecu to read boost, oil pressure/temp, fuel pressure intake air temp, exhaust gas temp, lambda, boost/launch control/fuel/ignition control settings are all displayed and can be controlled by the display (if you have the motec ecu and are using that properly). Oh and it's a data logger as well... So it doesn't just display the channels but stores them as well for tuning purposes and race/lap analysis.

Display is fully customiseable by simple to use free software. So not just what channels it displays, but position/size/type/appearance of graphs/gauges/dials to. What's shown in mine is just one of the default settings. I'm currently putting together something similar to the LFA layout but with the channels I want for mine.

Got to the fb link I posted and look at their estimated price. They have said scion one will be about $1000us. The $9999 is their isnt us dollars, seeing as the website is in chinese I'd guess it's Yuan, which makes it $1500 us roughly at todays exchange rates.

Not a gauge pod but a cheap set of gauges. Scan Gauge "X Gauge". Mine is programed for water temp, oil temp, and auto tranny temp. Just plugs into the ECU port.

But from looking at these two pictures side by side, it seems this is an impossibility...

Okay, back to my original plan, unless anyone has any better ideas.
I wish the tanabe came in red to match the red cluster

Actually a little mad that they've finished that as I am finishing off something very similar for my Motec C127. Their mount neater than mine at this point, but mine is just a personal project. It's more motorsport based and has features to suit.

So are they selling these or not yet? It looks like their facebook post is from June, 2014. I really want this for my car!

Can't help you on that one mate, sorry. Have you tried contacting them? I'm going to Sema this year so will keep an eye out for them.
But I wasn't waiting for them as I have my own solution to the problem. Test fitting prototype 3, made using a spare instrument cluster I had. Still needs a bit of a tidy up and some sheeting to close up the gaps on the side. But I'm almost there...
