Mitsubishi made it very clear back in 2014 that they were out of the performance car business for good with the last of the Evos in 2016.
Their statement at that time was they intended to have their greatly reduced fleet completely hybrid or EV by 2025. I had been a staunch Mitsu fanboy since the start of the DSM years but stopped following their news when they announced the end of their performance division so have no idea how close they are to meeting that goal.

Sadly, you are correct, but admit it, we'd both be driving one IF they actually built it. They won't for all the reasons you mention....but if they did..

I'd even buy the electric version, if that's what they decided to do.

They pissed me off so much with my last Lancer that I probably would not buy even if the best car in the world. Be more of a spite thing though.
Really more of a dealer issue I suppose but after owning 7 of their cars (well 6 and a DSM) between my wife and I there is not a hope I would go back to the make.

Right, forgot about LancerGate....

Well, maybe Dodge would sell one as the Stealth II..Stealthier?...Cloak? then you could go that route.

nowadays its more likely a next gen Mitsu 3000GT is spun off the Nissan 400Z since they're now in a partnership (with renault as well)

(both manufacturers are in a death spiral lol....not sure about Renault though)

I think the Z would be too small for a true 3000GT replacement base. It was a 2+2 after all, and was not exactly a small car.

It would also need to be AWD before I would consider it, don't want FWD only.

Regardless, its not going to happen so I guess it doesn't matter so let's blow it out spec wise.

I want it to be a partnership with GM, built it on the ZL1 Camaro platform to look just like the render, and use an LT4 Supercharged RWD configuration with a MT.

I'll take two of those.

But Mitsu didn't release those renders. Some random dude (or dudette) did.
Wait...
Unless Toyota had them done through a third party, passed them through Mitsu who attributed them to yet another person that then released them to Motor1!
I am eagerly awaiting the first website that attributes "leaked" specs to it based on old engines and guesses as to the dimensions of the render.
OH and it will be priced in the $15,000 to $20,000 range.
