Motec allows direct changes to the tune on the fly where ecutek needs to flash between each change which takes maybe 5 minutes. Because of this MOTEC is preferred if you are expecting to have to make a ton of adjustments because the change can be made and tested immediately and saves a lot of tuner time.

I think the goal was to make these things at least quasi affordable. The cost of na power and the potential reliability issues with fi make a new camaro or mustang look real good imo.

But for the price and headache? Realistically we might see 5-8hp difference, maybe more at the lower rpms, I would really be surprised to see 15hp/tq. Just my guess, would be cool to prove me wrong.

TBh I was more impressed by the midrange torque increase zerobreau got with his ITB set up. Nearly 180 ftlbs of torque and the torque dip basically inverted to a crest. That alone would make the price for these things worth while. Torque>Hp

Hoping for good result, I was following one of the first adopter on these on minkara (*2017 march) & he used Ecutec as well & result was good mid range but kind iffy topend that required lots tuning.

Here is his blog on minkara with videos of him taking it on track this year & last year. https://minkara.carview.co.jp/userid/518168/blog/p5/

Hmmmm looks like he switched to the sard surge tank and pipes because the thing was not revving high. Post says he was planning on retuning back in oct 2017, i can't find the post with the results of switching to the sard unit and retuning.

I suspect the silence indicates they aren't done yet. Knowing the team involved they are taking their time to get it right. There's probably also other paying customers who need work done so the R&D stuff gets set aside temporarily.

With all the holidays around this time of year I wouldn’t expect them to be prioritising this r&d. I wouldn’t expect anything until next year
