Measuring boost mechanically

For those who run boost gauges like the Defi, where do you guys measure the boost from?

I am currently running a MAP spacer with a nipple to measure it, but I'm kind of baited out by it.

NPT tapped the map sensor plate, and run the line to a mechanical boost gauge. The boost especially with intercooler oscillates a lot because that area gets too much turbulence with the design of everything. which is the reason you can only use the stock map sensor and have to tune off the MAF at WOT. But a mechanical gauge atleast for me doesn't seem as sensitive or reactive to the small sudden changes/oscillations so my mechanical gauge needle just stays at the same boost reading. but i heard digital ones will constantly change as they try to react to the oscillation so you get a number that flickers between a 3-4 psi range.

with 69mm pulley + wmi i get 13psi at redline, and get instantly 10+ psi pretty much any RPM i go WOT.

What differences, if any, are there between the Sprintex and the Cusco kits? I assume they are the same, just rebranded?

Yup, similar to innovate.

Just joined the flex fuel band wagon.
Running E40 + WMI, got another 3.3 degrees of timing from the E40. At about the same amount of timing now as full E85 but with better fuel economy, cooling, and less stress to the fuel system so still on stock pump/injectors with no issues.
It was a pleasant surprise how much harder it pulls now, probably another 10-12whp if i was to guess.
Fully maxed out the capabilities of the 210 system now. Guess it’s time to save for the 335 and a built long block.

Bout time. Not sure the 335 is worth it. My next move will be a turbo kit but for now I will stick with the 210

Possibly depends what you want. The 335 will maintain the same characteristics as the 210 only amplified.

My goal would be 300ft lbs from 3500-7000rpm 320ftlbs at 5-5.5k rpm. 400+whp at 7k rpm. Assuming 210 69mm E85 dyno is 220ftlbs/285whp

With head work, oversized valves and maybe cams should be doable. 100ftlbs/115whp more on this setup would be crazy. Thats like the same increase going from stock to the 210 with 69mm.

If i could go back in time I’d probably turbo, but now I'm too invested. And the instant throttle response and low end torque is fun. Don’t think anything could rival the 335 under 5500rpm, or throttle response.

Found this interesting listing on eBay. You won't have a dipstick if you use this on your unit.. Wondering if this would really help those who have oil consumption issues.

Never know till you try. Get it and get back to us.
Me and another member tried experimenting with something similar but we DIYed couldn’t keep the oil from spewing out. But this is probably much better. Also save your dipstick, use it when you want to check the oil level. Don’t need it in 24/7. As long as it doesn’t let oil leak out of the plug i see no downside in running it. Especially for only 20$.

There's a tiny allen head screw on the side facing the rear of the car in the middle lower area. I unfortunately stripped it as it's on there really tight and it was only something like a 2 for allen sizes, thus super hard to get turning if torqued too much to get loose. I don't have a picture but remember seeing one on here somewhere.

So the connector that connects the bypass valve tube to the nipple broke. Cheap plastic.. had to get another one from Autozone. It's going to eventually break again. Anyone know where to get a quality replacement?

I didn't notice until now. God knows how long I've been driving with it disconnected.

I didn't notice any crazy AFR's or fuel trims with it disconnected. Surely it would throw my AFR off because of the vacuum leak.. Question is how come I didn't notice any power less with it disconnected?!
