I just realized I too had the deep scratches a few weeks ago on my dead pedal and contacted weathertech. I had not seen the post, but started looking for others with the same issue after talking to Weathertech. They said they had no reported issues with our cars and the liners like this, so maybe I was the first person to actually contact them. However with all the other cars out there with metal dead pedals I would think someone would have contacted them before last week.

My guess is because of the half coverage tiny rocks/sand size get stuck to your shoe during rain or snow months and fall into the space between the liner and the dead pedal, then when you put pressure on the liner it scratches it to hell.

I would not advise getting these or any other similar mats unless you can maybe pad the back of the liner incase small rocks/sand get behind the liner.

Let me know if anyone else has had the same issue and I will contact weather tech to let them know, it is not a one person issue.

I have the same thing pretty sure it happens to most people. I personally dont care its behind the mat and if I ever use the rugs my foot is going to cover it.

Someone pointed that scratched dead pedal issue in another thread long ago. I trimmed my floor mat before installing so it wouldn't cover the dead pedal. Use a very sharp razor blade and you won't have an issue.

I have the same issue for what's its worth, figure the mats do a great job at protecting most of the interior, I kind of just got over it for now

Is there a way to not pay shipping for these? It's about 18 bucks for shipping + handling on the official weather tech site but are there any other vendors/sellers who will eat the shipping fee?

EDIT: I'm a dope. Just checked out the exact same WeatherTech Mats on Amazon and they were $99 + free shipping. Anyone planning to get one of these MUST buy them from Amazon and not the actual WeatherTech site because it's way more expensive there. Order # for the FRS is 444821.

I got mine from either Autogeek.com or Autopia.com when they had one of their 20% off sales with free shipping over $XX. I think they ended up just over $90 for the front pair.

I bought 3D MaxSpider all-weather black mats. They fit as well as Weathertech and look better IMO.
