Any groups in the Stockton Area?

I would like to meet fellow owners and go for drives. Also need some suggestions on mufflers. I would like to change my factory muffler. What has everyone else done? Can anyone recommend a good shop to have windows tinted?

Thanks....Michelle

Welcome! I know there's a few folks from Stockton around here and a good group of folks in the central valley (from Sac all the way to Fresno). I'm originally from Stockton but live in the bay now, but I still swing by to visit family once in a while.

If you want to go for drives (lets face it, 8 mile isn't much fun in these cars...) you can join the drive group here:

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29572

We mostly do twisty roads in the bay area though, but we have done a few east bay drives that are somewhat close to the valley. Warning: we drive in the buttcrack-o-dawn. There's also autoX at the fairgrounds this weekend I believe.

Lots of threads/reviews on different mufflers in the exhaust section. I have milltek and really like it.

Have fun with the car!

Hi Michelle,

Sorry to hear you miss the last meet. Next time. I am also from Stockton. You are thinking of muffle choice, there are alot. Depend on what you want. You want loud, mid or a bit louder than stock. There are many to choose from. For the window tint, I went to Cal Tint off of hammer Ln. It's in the car wash place with the yellow unbrella across from chevron and wal-mart. I thought I try them. I usally go to Pro Tint but they are a little expensive. But Cal Tint hook me up. Call and ask for Dave and tell him I sent you. The guy with the Red Scion FRS. I was their first customer with a FRS and I was only there a week ago. I think he charge you cheaper if you pay cash. He usually can hook you up if you go in on Monday only. I think that's when he work by himself or with another cool guy that do that under the table things...

Also on the first Friday of every month, there seem to be a group of people with different car, hanging out at the parking lot of Sonic and Lowe's off of 8 mile. I have some friend that go there to hang out. You have low rider, muscle car, european and imports just hanging out. They are usually out there around 8pm to later. I might go to this one if I'm not doing nothing.

Just throwing it out there, in case you were bored and wanted something to do.... LOL

Welcome! Theres 2 or 3 active members from Modesto that do meets sometimes, but sadly our valley doesnt have great roads for driving. I have GReddy's Evo 3 exhaust. Loud! But I like noise if its the RIGHT SOUND,& this exhaust makes it sound like a Subaru!

Welcome to the boards. As you can see there are a few of us in Stockton (I know at least 2 more that are active board members but haven't posted. In terms of drives the NorCal drive thread is the spot to look. Most are in the Bay Area but tons of cool people. Maybe now the number of Stockton/Modesto owners is higher we could convince them to come our way for a HWY 49 drive @BigFatFlip @PMok @MyRx?

The drive meets are also a good spot to check out exhausts. If your willing to travel there are plenty of spontaneous east bay meets. I know I plan on trying to put together a drive in movie night for the F&F premier, but show times are out for it yet (May 24 is release, in San Jose or Concord)

I guess since youve dragged your ass all the way to the bay on a early sat morning, it only seems fair for us to do the same lol. I was just around that area last week (yosemite), great roads put there too.

A little off topic, I was in Stockton for a job interview last Friday. Does anyone have any recommendations on which areas are safe and nice to live? Oh, I also spotted a Red FRS on March Ln around 2pm.

There are a few areas in Stockton that are safe. You have brookside, Lincoln area depend on which area, Quail Lake, and Spanos Area. I'll be glad to show you around if you end up taking a job in Stockton.
