Anyone tried a Fidanza Clutch and flywheel set
I'm curious to see if anyone has tried this clutch setup before, its
2013 SCION FR S Fidanza Qwik-Rev Clutch Combos 710102 Here is the link http://www.summitracing.com/parts/fi...ion/model/fr-s I can get this shipped for a good deal with our wholesale summit dealer account, but I'm hoping someone has tried it and has some opinions on it. 20k overall miles with the last 10k boosted and now with e85 for 1k miles my clutch is slipping. The V2 clutch set with lwfw has 6 puck disc which is what I am hoping someone has tried before. |

Well I got the flywheel and clutch finally.......... Not to happy yet, I'm waiting on Fidanza to get back to me in the morning so we can figure out why the flywheel they sent me is was not made correctly.
Needless to say, the FRS/BRZ transmission is by far the easiest transmission to remove and install... Less than 45 minutes to get it out, and not much more than that to complete the entire job. what a cake walk in terms of clutch jobs, lol. |

Well between the flywheel and the crankshaft there is what Subaru calls a crankshaft sensor plate. it has the signal for crankshaft position built into the design of the plate so that every time a specific part of the sensor plate goes over the magnet on the crankshaft sensor it picks the position up and sends it to the computer. The fidanza flywheel they sent me even though it has the correct part number stamped into it seems to be not cnc'd correctly, and it is actually recessed into the flywheel instead of coming out like the factory oem flywheel. What happened is it doesn't fit in the fidanza flywheel correctly and pushed out the crankshaft sensor plate all the way to the point of rubbing against the crankshaft sensor, and broke the crankshaft sensor.
So now I have a broken crankshaft position sensor, a bent crankshaft sensor plate (I had to special order and next day air it so I can have it by tomorrow from Subaru. (btw if you ever have this problem don't order from Toyota they are more expensive and do not allow next day air options) which has costed me an extra 160$. I sure hope Fidanza pulls through and next day airs me a new clutch/flywheel set that is built right and pays for the sensor and sensor plate. I sent them pictures of everything this morning and they will confirm what I already know happened and then it is up to them to make it right. So far they have been very helpful I hope that continues and they get back to me quickly. The car is sitting on a rack taking up shop space at my shop and that's not good for business when 1 out of our 4 racks are down for 2+ days. I'll let you guys know what I hear back from Fidanza |

So Fidanza called back and they are making a new flywheel/clutch kit for me and sending me out a whole new kit! Also they said they will take care of the cost of the crankshaft sensor and sensor plate.
Kudos to them, been so easy to deal with! It's very strange they have never had this happen before with the other kits they have sold to frs/brz people, Hopefully just a once-off kind of a problem. |
