Green inside trunk release handle broke off

How do I fix this?

I'm pretty sure that is the cable that goes to the actuator to open it. I think for the cable for the green handle you need a new latch.

OP, I wouldn't do anything if everything works in every other way. Very strange to break that cable.

Mine broke like 5 years ago. But weird failures dont surprise me when it happens to me lol

Mine broke after I got rearended and repaired. One of the wires got jammed and the mechanic at the body shop had to go in through the back seat. When he pulled this, he got the trunk open but it broke off. The trunk still works fine, so I haven't bothered to have them replace it (they were supposed to order the part).

Funny to have this in a trunk where the back seat opens from inside the trunk. I guess that's not the best escape route

Maybe it's a single use part? Evidence? It's hard to put the candy back in the pinata.
