Vortech SC question

May be a silly question but I need to get educated. I ordered a Vortech SC from Visconti with a base map. If I install a crank pulley with the base tune, will it screw up the tuning characteristics? Will I need a tune accompanied with the pulley?

I see. Sounds good. What about the lack of a harmonic dampener. I'm kind of iffy on installing one. I had one on my tC before i traded it. It worked fine. I'm just seeing horror stories online.

BTW, I was following your car. Get it dynoed yet?

apparently this car does not use the crank pulley to balance the crank. probably because boxer the crank is basically inline with the heads and rods cams etc. I say go for the perrin crank pulley. I would install crank pulley first drive it for a day or 4 to make sure you have no issues which I believe you will not. because once the blower setup is on and you have a problem with the pulley it will be hard to diagnose and or repair.

haven't dyno-ed yet but will soon at @Hal@Dynosty and with a 12psi pulley on e85. I hope my car is atleast 250whp I did stomp a 02 wrx with plenty of mods and max psi on stock turbo

Did you get a different pulley? Where did you get the pulley? Looking forward to the dyno!

I actually bought a 3.125 inch pulley before I got the kit, from perrin drop shipped from vortech. stock pulley is 3.48.

I want to get this boost relief wastegate from here the also can make custom 6 rib pulley that fit the blower.

http://www.928motorsports.com/parts/...mitervalve.php

I want the option of going back to 9psi and pump.

my e85 12psi tune will be custom made for my car. I also need a catch can and "want" a clutch and Light weight drive shaft

I ordered the pulley from visconti and was told that vortech was supposed to drop it with the kit, but it never came. I guess I need to PM John and see where mine is. Do you know anyone else with the smaller pulley?

I remember there being a thread on here of a bunch of people in the same boat. Ordered with the smaller pulley through John but didn't get it from vortech but I forget what came of it. Try searching it should be somewhere

If you go with a smaller pulley(3.125) do you need new shorter belt?

I think the belt tensioner takes care of the tiny amount of slack created.
