Can the FR-S trasmission Rev-match?

I read a post that Rev-match is possible in the manual transmission FR-S.
Does anybody knows how to do it. I just can't heel-toe when shifting.

what do you mean can the manual frs rev match? Just clutch in, gas, downshift and release clutch

If you down shift and simply release the clutch you will hear the engine revs kick up to a higher rpm. If, when you down shift you use your right foot to bring the revs up to "where you expect them to be" when you release the clutch, that is rev matching. I bring the revs up at the same time I'm releasing the clutch. You don't want the engine to just rev away while you're holding the clutch in. Practice, practice and practice some more and you will learn to co-ordinate releasing the clutch and bringing up the revs at the right time.

The ecu calibration using RaceRom and having auto blip enabled, is a quasi rev match. However, whats the point? What most folks seem to forget is that the gearbox has very very good syncos, and that in truth there is no need to Rev match.

Now thats gonna rase a few eyebrows, and have a few folks calling me names, but I can tell you this; on a track type car, with warner, or porsche style syncos, I use the clutch to start, and to stop. Other than that, I left foot brake, and allow the trans to do its job.

You don't need to heel-toe to rev match.

The only time that technique is useful when braking hard into a corner and downshifting to not upset the chassis or break the drive wheels loose.

If you're seriously interested in learning race driving techniques, stay away from the internet, turn off our computer and go find a local SCCA club that does High Performance Driver Education (HPDE) and get signed up! I promise you that there is NOTHING on the internet that can replace personal instruction!

Just blip the throttle when downshifting. Is sounds super sweet with my exhaust system.

Then there's heel and toe, where you blip, downshift and tap the brake at the same time to set up for acceleration out of a turn.

yeah, i second the opinion, Don't ask for driving advice on the interwebs...

Getting some seat time with an instructor BEFORE you formulate bad driving habits, is the best thing you can do for you and your car.

...to answer the original question, yes the trans can rev match, the real question is, Can the driver?

whats wrong with reving with clutch fully engaged?

If you release the clutch at the same time you blip the throttle wouldn't the clutch bite midway when the rpm are still rising and causing an inaccurate rev match?

There's nothing wrong with doing that. It's just a matter of how smooooooth you want to be.
