What evidence do you base that on?

Subaru is an expert of hiding development and Toyota is pretty good as well.
Except for the MkV Supra, which had to be one of the longest, most drawn out developments Ive ever seen. Literally years on years worth of speculation and camo wrapped cars all over the internet.

Well to be fair to Toyota a lot of that was just people on the internet wanting to get attention. Toyota wasnt revealing much of anything about a new Supra. Once they announced the partnership with BMW, it made it into production fairly quickly (for a low volume sports car).

Fun to read the clickbaits that so many believed (and still believe) now that we know at least some of the reality.

In the case of the one that started this thread and the one it was parroting the confirmed source was correct on the engine displacement. Only the displacement. Nothing else. Every single other confirmed "fact" was wrong. Even the renders are laughable now.

Give them some credit. They did get the bang-your-knee-on-the-door aero right.

Of course, given the choice, I still want the original concept (well one of the originals, I forget which one this is)

concept 1 (the real original concept) was this one:

concept II looks like the production car with the TRD bodykit:

And the one you posted was concept 3, the FRS concept:
