1k Blackstone Oil Analysis Report

Note the RTV Comment. I also did a scope inspection, nothing to worry about... yet. Drive it, enjoy it.

"We can't tell"

Now share it on the Facebook groups and get eviscerated by the crybabies who are worried if their chicken is 163 instead of 165.

Thanks for sharing! I just rolled over 1k and have my Blackstone kit ready to collect a sample when I change the oil this weekend. Would be interesting to compile reports if others have done this as well.

Surprised I haven't seen anu UOAs over at BITOG for this engine. My son is heading off to college this weekend so decided to do the first oil change early at 785 miles since it may be a few thousand miles until he returns. Sent it off to Blackstone today, will post results here and at BITOG. I plan on performing UOAs on every change and logging them, like I currently do for the other cars at home.

No, UOAs are not necessary, but it's a hobby for me, for the last 20 years, and I learn quite a bit about oils, etc., over at BITOG.

Here's my UOA at 785 miles. Did it early since my son left that weekend for college and it might have been a few thou before he returned. Will try to change again after another 3K or 5K and see what it looks like then. They state Subie 2.0 but it's a GR86.

Just to help alleviate worries a little, my silicone numbers in my FA20 didn't get to anything normal until my (second to) last oil change at 27k.

Only 600 mileson the oil? You didn't change the oil right? Just drew some out of the dipstick? Why such a short interval?

Wow I’ve been on the wrong forum this whole time. Here I can find likeminded OCD enthusiasts who do unnecessary things like get a UOA at 1k just for the hell of it. At the other 86 forum I got some weird feedback about panicking. Anyway my UOA looks like everyone else’s at 1k. Lots of silicon and wear metals.

While I love this place, it depends on the weather, time of day, and pancake to bacon ratio. The fact that nobody has been really negative here is merely luck- it's nice to see though! Glad you're enjoying yourself here
