Just noticed a small blister on my front outside tire. Similar to ZDan, 4 days on track (2 under an MX5, and 2 under my BRZ) and a few thousand street miles. Bummer - I was hoping to rotate them and get another event out of them. Going to try Toyo R1R's and a little wider.

Bimmerworld sells used Conti slicks (225/45/17) which is a touch slower than the R7 and lasts a while. For the money like $75 each, they are not bad. I got a set and now have 15 heat cycles and they are fairly consistent (not as fast but last a while for when I am doing testing/DE and not TT). Almost as fast as RR (per the data/laptimes) and hold up the entire session vs fall off towards the tail end like Re71. But RE71s are the bees knees, unreal for the cheater 200 rating Lutfy

For instance the club I run with gives you 2.5pts for the Conti scrub or -2.5pts for the RE71R. So, you play the points game and run the RE71R as your TT only tire and practice on something less expensive and/or something longer lasting (NT01, Conti scrub, etc). Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk |

For someone who's doing an HPDE, the RE71R is a poor choice, but not because it isn't a fast tire. |
