Well, since it's too cold outside to work on the car...

I just made a drawer.

Poplar box with slide-in dovetail joints. Did not take as long as I expected, probably 3.5hrs start to finish. Well, to test fit. Because this was a test to see if I could put together a drawer properly. I think the cabinet may be less precise than the drawer though, to be honest. 9 more in this size, and probably 3 deeper drawers for the other base cabinet, then doors and shelves for the top 4 cabinets and finish work. Built-in for the home theater. Slow work takes time, they say... The cabinet carcass has been installed for... might be 6 months, probably longer.

Now I'm just being argumentative on the internet. Probably because people want me to just give them the OEM Brembo package and insist it's not worth anything close to what it would cost to put an equivalent package (used) onto the car...

Sure. Happy to let them sit on the shelf, maybe put them back on the car if/when I get tired of autocross or track days or whatever.

Only looking to swap them out for weight savings; ~40lbs or more are likely from what I've seen (I'll weigh... so I know for sure when done).

I just hope there's no different proportioning on the system overall that mucks things up for me.

Further bulletins as events (or boredom) warrant. Maybe.

When my son and I took off the wheels last weekend I was shocked how stiff and rusted the lugs and studs were. It had been 1 year 5000 miles and my car lives in the garage in San jose ca and doesn't see rain. It has aftermarket lugs. I've owned lots of cars, never seen it that bad. I did a wire brush to them and a thin film of anti seize.

Because it is OEM, it's evidently worth $0.02 - if it were aftermarket, it would be worth perhaps $3200 with only a few hundred miles on the parts (perhaps even more...)

OE wheels are cheap because few people like them, and lots of people have them. The Brembo package? It doesn't strike me that it's quite the same.

And if I'm just crazy, on the shelf they will sit, satisfying my sense of value perfectly.
