Do you have an o2 socket? Need something that'll clear the wires. A shop might insist on dropping the header? Not sure how easy access is in your car.

Cold sucks for car work. I want to start on mine, but not in this weather! Need to at least swap front studs so I can put winter tires on though... Its warm today, getting up to 16 (-9C) so maybe it's time...

I do not have an o2 socket, but iirc, a 7/8ths(?) works very well. Should be easy enough to access by removing the passenger front wheel, removing the fender liner and havin' at 'er.

Edit: although before I resort to replacing it, I'll just check the fuses first.

I would actually leave that dealer plate frame on the car!

Good point on the wheel well lining.

The trick is the wires on the sensor... sockets typically don't work so well. If you can get in from the side you'll be fine with a standard wrench, but a socket may be tough no matter how you work it. 7/8" or 22mm it is, though.

Yeah, when I swapped the header, I just threaded the wires through the wrench and did it that way. The open ended wrench should work.

It's also not the fuse, so yay.

Well, this is the last time I come to this dealership for anything. Service advisor, techs, really anyone who has hopped in my car has revved the piss out of it.

Anyone know what the dealership would charge to do it? Should be like an hour right? I need to get my oil changed, so I'll be there anyways and I don't overly want to do it myself with the weather we're having.
You can buy the o2 sensor and bring the car to a muffler shop, 15min labor. No need to cool down, they have gloves for those purposes

Oh, so I've found out that I should always buy my parts from a Subaru dealer.

Got a quote for the rear o2 sensor from the Toyota dealer since I was there anyways, and they wanted nearly $490 for it. Ended up going to the Subi dealer across the road from my apartment, and they wanted $266.

Absolute insanity.

Good to know. That is a crazy difference!

I think I'll check with both when I need something to see who is cheaper.
