Exclamation Does anyone recall the release month for each Model Year (13-17)?

Hey Guys,

I'm interested in findings out when the Release months were for the 2013-2017 FRS/BRZ/86 in North America.

Long story short, my lease is due and I'm debating on leasing or financing a new BRZ tS when it comes to North America.

I remember getting my 14MY in March and 30 days later the lease rate went from 4.9% to 0.9% so I'm trying to gauge when those rates may drop.

I'm also trying to gauge what month the 2018 BRZ tS may be available. I'm assuming that if the vehicles were all launched in February, that the 2018 will likely launch in Feb (I'm using Feb as an example)

Thanks in advance,

Information I've collected thus far

Long time lurker, but thought I would try to lend a hand. Won't be able to help with the timing of the special editions.

I've been keeping track of this out of curiosity as well. Looking to time a purchase of a 2017 PP.

Here is what I've collected so far:

Links to Subaru announcements:

2015 Pricing

2016 Update Information
2016 Pricing

2017 Update Information
2017 Pricing Information

Hopefully this helps a little!

Nicely done!

If memory serves me right, depending on region, the cars started showing up on the lots anywhere from 2 to 3 months after the announcements.

Wouldn't this count as the 2018 announcement? Seems to have the correct timing...

Be the 2018 special edition announcement but doesn't tell us what (if anything) changes on the normal models.

Yep Tcoat is correct. The 2018 announcement for the regular models have not been released yet!

The model updates and pricing dates that I have been going off of are only for the regular editions - not accounting for special editions.

Toyota released their 2018 pricing at the end of June.

Notice anything odd?

tS will probably hit retailers in mid February. Pricing probably comes out October-ish.

2013 models were released in May 2012 for BRZ and Toyota. Toyota/Scion limited May to 86 units (part of their First 86 promotion) with full release in June 2012 although some dealers sold units outside the promotion during May.

That was my point: Nothing new for 2018 "normal" cars. The special edition is it. The expected time for announcement has passed, and the special edition was all that was said.

Well the "expected" time is exactly that. They could decide next April to announce the 18s. Subaru can be really variable in such things.

It used to be so easy when every September 1st all of the car companies announced their next year's line ups. Those days ended at some point back in the 80s.

I don't expect big things for the 18s but they will still at least announce when they will be available if nothing else.

I got my 14 in July of 14. They were eager to move it since the truck was unloading the 15s out back while we were talking.
