Hello all, hoping to get a bit of feedback on my new c30. installed today, and I wanted to verify this idle noise is normal. i move around a bit because its weirdly angle dependent on how clear you can hear the whine. as such i figure its coming from within the rotrex and what you hear is the sound echoing out through the tube and air filter.
what im trying to pick out is that high pitch whine. unsure if mechanical whine, or just the sound of air whistling, normal or not, etc. kind of hard to hear from inside, did not seem to get louder when i revved a bit. just wanted to verify this is normal sounding for a c30 at idle. fluid reservoir is full thanks for listening to me whine heh |

I have a couple of questions:
1) Who all is running meth, and what are your current logs looking like? (before you even say "just run E85" know that I'm 50mi from the closest E85 pump so it's not an option) 2) Who is using a Full Blown fan/shroud kit with the FB or Koyo rad? Do you track it and how do the temps look? 3) Knowing I'm not going to be running E85 what would 700cc injectors using 93oct and meth be rated up to max? I'm old to EJ's, new to FA's so I do look at this from a perspective of "where's the 1:1 tq/hp I'm accustomed to?". Displacement plays a huge roll but even in my EJ22T prior to going 2.4L it was still roughly 1:1. Time to untrain the brain. I'll have plenty more questions don't doubt. But real quick, after reading though 200+ pages on this thread I would like to give a shoutout to CSG Mike. I might be new to the forum but it's clear to see what a valuable asset this dude is to the community here giving out tons of free information that he no doubt has a lot of time and money invested in gathering said info. Not trying to overstep here, but I encourage anyone who is looking to get a kit, a replacement belt, whatever to consider someone like this first even if the cost is a bit more. Just remember this is what keeps this information flowing, I assure you Amazon isn't about to get on here and answer your questions! I'll get off the soap box now, and I will certainly be placing my own orders soon. |

I track it with a koyo rad and no shroud with a 12 inch fan. best compromise of reducing drag at higher speeds to still having some cooling during red flags/pits IMO

Blew up the rotrex for the 2nd time after a year and a half. At the track, main shaft seized and the pulley sheared and snapped the belt. Will get pics later

c38. Unit did something similar last year driving on the street, (less dramatic failure) and I had it rebuild by superchargerrebuilds.com due to being out of warranty and that was almost a year ago.

It was like $600 and took 2 months I think. It worked...for awhile, not sure if I can blame this one them. Looks like the bearing failed
