Biggest tires on 48 offset wheels

I have 17” OZ ultraleggra wheels (gold of course). I have 225 45 r17 Rivals on them. Time for new tires . Are these as wide as I can go?

There is no clear and definite answer to this question from the info provided. maximum width clearance will depend on your ride height, alignment specs, wheel width, and shock/suspension setup.

ie I've aggressively driven 225, 245, 255, and a coworker of mine is at 265 with no rubbing, all +42 and +43 offset

Hope this helps

I'm confused as to how this thread can even exist without this information.

Thanks for piling on. Wheels are 17 x 7.5. 48 offset. Stock suspension. Since this was a DS post I figured that was already a given. How wide can I go without rubbing.

Nobody's piling on. And what the heck is a DS post? Coming in to demand information when you did not provide enough information is not a way to engender folks to help you out.

I have tried many different width tires on different width wheels. IMO, a slight stretch is better than too wide of a tire. I am running 245's on 9" wheels. I tried 245/40/17 MPSS on 17x7.5" +38 wheels. The tires were pinched.

If you stay with the Rivals, 245/40/17 is the next size up. I would not suggest it. I would stick with a 225/45/17 for your 17x7.5 +48 wheels.

Stick with 225
Not sure what DS means either, if you mean autocross classing the 7.5" wheel isn't allowable in DS on this car, all the 86s that came with 7.5" wheels are in CS

Tire rack says OEM wheel on 2013 is 7.5. But yes I meant D street. My bad, I thought I was under DStreet category.

That being said, does anyone run staggered for autocross. In my old Miata we didn’t because it would throw off the balance of the car. Also does anyone use top and bottom camber bolts

Staggered would definitely upset balance
Two camber bolts are not uncommon and is the default for SSC

I don't think two bolts is DS legal though. Though already mentioned, neither are 7.5" wide wheels, whatever TireRack claims.

17x8+40 gets -3.1° to -3.2° on a pair of camber bolts on the big-hole Konis in SSC without additional spacing, 25mm spacer is totally unnecessary unless you're super conservative about wheel/strut clearance or care about looks.

Yup definitely not legal for Street class, could self class in CS with the 1 OE camber bolt and 7.5" wheels and I doubt anyone would complain. 2 camber bolts (or one aftermarket bolt) is STX unless it is accompanied by the rest of the SSC kit (which would include 17x8's).

Thank you everyone I did not realize I was running an illegal set up. I would be ok on CS with the 7.5 wheels though. May have to switch.
