Kicking up rock sound in rear under heavy throttle?

I have NO idea what this is, never heard anything like it before. The car runs, and drives fine, but if i get into some heavier boosting (i'm turbo) it instantly sounds like i'm kicking up all kinds of heavy rocks into the wheel well.

Any clue? I'm going to have it checked out later this evening, but might help to have some ideas of what to look for when I get it on the lift.

EDIT: Here is a video of it: [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UP5V2gaO98"]BRZ weird noises - YouTube[/ame]

It sounds like it is coming from around the firewall area.

The first thing I would look for is somewhere, where a part of the exhaust system could be hitting something else .....like the frame ...

Are you getting wheelspin? It'll make them sticky and they'll pick up any gravel on the road and fling it at your fender wells?

Do you still have the stock fender plastics in?

Orr maybe your cv joints are dying haha

It's definitely not rocks haha.

And it will happen without wheelspin. It's not traction control. I'm thinking it might be axle or cv related... ugh.

Was working yesterday! The dates are off because my dashcam got reset, but I caught that yesterday: [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Je6ccjPZ1U"]BRZ and random biker quick pull - YouTube[/ame]

Then on the way to work today clicking, tapping etc... I just got the car back and running properly. I swear it's always something with this car.

EDIT: The clicking etc in that vid is because my windows are down, that's not audible to me as the driver. The actual sound I'm worried about is LOUD.

So it is actually not the rear axles... I wasn't able to put it on a lift today, looking more like Friday. When you put the windows up, it sounds like it is just behind the engine bay... so we're think turbo components rubbing when the engine is torquing out since that's where all those goodies are located.

So your engine is twisting from all the torque and causing things to rub?
