Ouch.

Georgia has a rural hospital tax credit where you can donate up to $5,000 to specific hospitals and it will be an equal state tax credit (the Feds don't allow it).

I have contributed to it for the past several years since it doesn't cost me anything and it benefits one of the hospitals in the system I work for. You have to pay it, and it comes back the next year as a full tax credit, or you could "underpay" your state taxes and not have it withheld from your check.

Technically, since I know what I give and what I owe (Georgia is a straight 6% income tax) I could change my withholding to avoid it coming out of my paycheck but I'm always afraid I'll get caught in some gotcha like you describe and I would end up owing the full amount plus the donation.

100C and 212F are the same too! Easy math for everything between. Especially 0C/32F which are also the same.

I suppose I would get used to it, but Fahrenheit has a better "spread" to it to me.

The practical range for weather for example seems better differentiated in F than C.

Just remember it's not "degrees Kelvin". It's "Kelvins". For example, zero degrees Celsius is 273.15 Kelvins

My Pug 206 was the first car I owned with a digital temperature display for the air con thermostat. My first thought on getting the car was there's no need for this level of technology. It took me about 3 days to think how did I ever manage with a cable controlled hot/cold tap. On getting the BRZ I thought 1/2 degree C increments was a little fussy. Took me about 3 days to wondering if 1/3 degree increments might be better.
