I'll probably get a letter from the HOA....all "car work" is supposed to take place in the garage. Got it done in under 2 hours...in the middle of the day when most people were at work

Boy, it's been a busy couple of days...
Last Wednesday - finally got the 245/40R17 Hankook Ventus RS-4's mounted on the 17"x9" Gold Enkei RPF1's for #15 and dropped them off at @Dave-ROR's, Dave had installed the AP Racing Sprint kit and ARP front extended lug studs on #15 but was having a bear with the rear due to corrosion, also the MCS coilovers with Raceseng CasCam plates resulted in an unexpected issue...more on these later. Thursday drove from Tampa, FL to Huntsvile, AL to pick up a donor car (#17)/engine for #16. Left at 5:00am, made it to Huntsville, then made it back to Warner Robbins, GA at 10:00pm before having to stop and sleep. Friday morning left at 5:30am and made it back home by 11:30am...spent 2 hours putting a left front suspension back on #17 to get it off the trailer (see a few posts back). Saturday went back over to Dave-Ror's to help get the rear hubs apart and install those ARP's...ending up destroying the rear hubs getting them out (due to the rust), cleaned everything up, installed a brand new set of Subaru OEM rear hubs with the newly installed ARP studs, installed braided brake lines, Ferodo DS2500 pads all around and flushed and bled the brake system with AP Racing Radi-Cal R2 fluid. Ended up reinstalling the stock struts/springs (hopefully Dave will chime in on the MCS/Raceseng issue) and installed a set of SPC Adjustable Rear Lower Control Arms. Sunday spent all day removing the engines out of #16 & #17, swapping the new plugs, new drive belt and new clutch off of #16's knocking engine and onto the #17 donor, then installed the #17 motor into #16. Was done at 9:00pm. Monday (today) went to work and started installing Energy Suspension bushings on the company track NC Miata....got one side done....came home finished up the loose ends on #16; recharged A/C, bled cooling system, topped off all fluids, etc. Been a little busy....

I've got raceseng and MCS -- curious what the issue was.
Love this thread btw! |

#16 almost ready to go to a new home; Bone stock, clean & clear FL title, one owner, 2015 Engine installed with new plugs, drive belt, clutch, battery & tires. Cleaned up and runs great. Paintless dent repair comes out tomorrow to fix the small dent in the drivers fender...this one cleaned up easier and quicker than I expected.

Not something I'd expect with a pretty expensive suspension setup. IMO the blame is a tiny tiny bit to MCS for changing the design (according to Raceseng anyways), presumably without notice, and a huge part Raceseng for their lackluster customer service (selling another adapter for the spring perch to spherical bearing with the same issue and then upon seeing the video basically just saying "sorry MCS must have changed their design" - no "wow let us make a new piece and see if that fixes it!"). As a result I won't be suggesting or buying anything from them in the future, which should hurt their bottom line just enough for their owner to have to skip McDonalds once every 5 years.

Oh, yeah, I have a box of spacers and things from playing with susp for 10+ years. I threw a spacer on, too. Didn't even give it a second thought.
99% sure I had to do the same with the MCS on my s13, too, though I can't remember offhand. |

I'd be fine with it on a custom setup but when a company sells something for a specific purpose I expect it to work. We aren't talking body mods where some trimming might be required, etc.. this is simple stuff to get right if you are making a product for a specific application. And it would be simple for them to fix.

I can't overstate how well the car performed. Other than losing a turn signal, zero issues, despite the massive amount of work you and Dave-ROR to rebuild the car. |
