This is the CSG C1 pad on a stoptech BBK with 328mm rotors. Much different setup.

that's not a problem, as you're going to be changing pads and rotors soon anyways!

deposits are a bad thing. they create an unpredictable friction surface.

This is what you want to hear. Replace the rotors with bigger dia rotors and a set of 4 piston front and 2 piston rear calipers (AKA BIG BREAK KIT) LOL BIG BRAKE KIT.

For all intents and purposes, there is no reason to disable or turn the system off, even on track, as it is a reactive system. It only intervenes if you've already locked up one or more wheels. It is generally faster to leave ABS on, and to judiciously use the system only under circumstances where traction is uneven. (e.g. left tires have way less traction than right) ABS comes with a LARGE heat penalty when used. |

He just needs to get better pads. No need for a BBK at this time.

This happened because the pad is completely insufficient for your use. You need a better pad combination. |

If you think deposit are NOT a negative thing, then you should check out your own data. You'll very quickly change your mind when you see how it affects your braking ability. |

Haven't said anything about the dtc working for anyone or me, did I.
My data says that OP level of deposits have zero impact on braking, unless there is pad contamination. |

![]() I personally don't consider that level of deposit or difference in rotor heating alarming. I just wouldn't buy that combo again if it was me but I'd continue to run them till I wore that set out. As for your goofy comment on "rich" CSG pad owners. Are they really more expensive if they last longer? XP10's at 500 a set lasted me maybe 60-65% of the life of C1's, not to mention the XP's suck. I am running Raybestos this go around, will probably try something else the next time variety being the spice of life so they say.

XP10 were awful to me too. 5+ sets on this chassis, probably 30+ dtc sets total. Hundred+ of sets from other brands combined...dtc are very high on the scale of performance and life per $. |
