This is directed at the op, or anyone that has tired alternative solutions, has anyone had luck fixing these studs/nuts so that they do not work themselves out?
I found myself in the same predicament this past weekend, and this was after a pre-track check where I put a wrench on each of these nuts. Might just need to add a spare gasket kit to the track day tool kit. |

So I ordered some of the Vibra-tite mentioned earlier in this thread and have had two successful track days without issue since. That's hardly proof of anything yet, but hoping the stuff is doing it's job.

I have also used the Hot-lock with success, but no track days on mine.

This was the most frustrating part about the ace header when I ran one, and the odd leak like sound it makes.

Uh yeaahh thats about right. I was told its just the rushing sound of exhaust thru the piping (thin walled). Got rid of that noise and the leaky overpipe gasket with a switch to the Tomei UEL.

Heat cycle and re-torque everything, as heat/vibration will make things back out.
Alternatively, replace the stud/nut with a bolt if you prefer, and then safety wire the bolt. Using the cycle/retorque method, I had no issues with my header, but i did need to retorque 2-3 times after install before it stopped turning after cycling. |

Been a few months since this thread last popped up, but wanted to share my solution.
Actually ordered the hotlock, but still wasn't convinced I would be worry free long term. Ended up ordering 20mm fasteners from drilledheadbolts.com and safety wired them through. (my first time using lock wire w/plies, not the tidiest job) Happy to note i haven't had any issues here since. [IMG] ![]() |

M8-1.25 X 20MM did it for me, that was with a 2-3mm split washer under the bolt head.
