I took it to powder coating almost 5 weeks ago...I'm starting to get impatient.

So its been over 2 years since my last post. Life happened...went through a divorce, and had to move, and focus on my career and family. But eventually things have settled down and I have a garage again which allowed me to refocus on this little hobby. So I will dump a lot of pictures and just kinda go through them.
So in the picture below was how the car sat in early 2017. The powder coated Kosei K4r's had cracked so I bought these 18" Konig Hypergrams to replace them. Here is a picture of the next time I touched the car(or at least had a picture of it). July last year I bought a house with my new wife, and I was excited that I had a garage again to work on my car. The lack of garage since 2016 had really hindered my interest in working on my car. So when my TOB went out I decided to pull the transmission out myself and replace all that, and the clutch fork because I had big plans. Unfortunately I didn't have the right tools and when it came out the trans fell on my head and I almost died. Learned my lesson on that for sure, but I got it done and back in the car successfully. Here is how the car sat after the transmission was back in September last year. Notice I had new side skirts and I had cut the bumper for a planned future diffuser. This was December last year...I decided to drive my car to work, which I didn't do often. I had to reverse out of a parking deck as it was full, and reversed into a Tahoe that I somehow didn't see in my mirrors and this was the result. This was a blessing as I got a lot of money from my insurance to fix the car. Of course I took the money to start modifying the car further and I fixed the car myself! Somewhere around here I decided I was going to turn the car into a track car, and hopefully do some hill climb TT one day. Here is a shot of the result of me trying to fix the rear of the car, which I was relatively satisfied with. You can also see my Fortune Auto 510's that I got. I didn't like the side skirts I had so I bought some TRD replicas used, and my lovely wife was helping me sand them so I could wrap them. Drift armor front and rear bash bars...these were to save some weight and also use as a mounting point for a few other things. Here is how the car sat January of 2019. As you can see the side skirts are mounted and wrapped, and I got some Hella driving lights mounted to make up for the horrible light output of the smoked brights (don't do that guys). Ok, so my dream of building a "race car" had begun when I got a new job working from home. I wanted to strip as much weight from the car while still keeping it functional. My goals were to have a dedicated car that I can autocross, track, drift, mountain runs, whatever. This was a lot of work! Got a seat to start with. Parts shop Max hand brake Brake ducts Pulled the rear subframe out. Yeah I got the subframe risers and static diff mounts for the subframe as well as a poly bushing kit to replace every bushing on the car. Verus Hood vents Also decided to make this custom center console thing from some aluminum and I thought it turned out well. Dual caliper setup Then I sent the car to get a 4 point roll cage installed and took a few month break for some other stuff going on in my life. This is how it sat before I sent it the builder. And here is the cage when I got it back. just really simple, I know that down the road some orgs will want this so its just to be ready for that. Also to do everything right with the seats and harness etc. Got some really light weight 17s with some Falkens for tracking Also picked up some Wilwoods unexpectedly for really cheap So here is how it sits today!

Quite a transformation! How much weight do you reckon you pulled out? Does it feel noticeably faster?

Thank you. I would say conservatively in the 2500s. I need to find a scale but have not been able to. I wouldn’t say faster but it feels quick...if that makes sense. More responsive and grounded.

Thanks. It feels great not only to drive but just to get the car to this point is very satisfying.

Roll cage was 60lbs. Dual caliper probably added 30 or 40. Harnesses. Fire extinguisher. It’s defi net gain though.
