Paint stress fractures??
Hey guys, I've got some stress fractures on the front of my car that (I assume) happened from someone backing out of their driveway slightly into my car. With winter coming up what should I do to prevent more cracking/rusting? I'm going to get it fixed/detailed in the spring.

When you say front, do you mean the bumper? Someone hit me and the same spiderweb is there, only when you get the right angle to see it. It's because the plastic can flex more than the paint, even with the flex additive.
On that note, winter isn't going to do much. It can't rust. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using Tapatalk

Pictures would help.
If it's just scratching and paint transfer from another car, you could probably buff it out. If it's through the clear and cracked the paint, it's probably going to require a re-spray. There's a pretty wide gamut of possibilities. If it's just on your bumper, you don't have to worry about rust. It's plastic. The fenders are another story. |

Yeah, I'd put in an insurance claim and get it re-sprayed.

Yep, @HoneyPie, I figure that is about the only thing that will "fix" it.
It won't "rub out" nor can a PDR dude do it any good. So the hood is cracked also..?? You don't have any big ol boyfriends that sit on it .... do you .... ?? Anyways, if you can't get it fixed this fall, stress cracks aren't going anywhere during the winter. The front bumper is plastic and the hood is aluminum, so they won't rust. You might try some store bought "scratch remover" which may it look a bit better until you get it fixed proper. humfrz |

I have pretty much the same spider web in the same place. It's under the clear vinyl, but weird it looks exactly like mine. People suck
