Snap Oversteer's Varis Arising II Seat Time Build
Hi everyone,
I suck at driving, so in July 2018, I purchased a 2014 FR-S show car from a local friend in Vancouver. Most of the mods were parted out. Here's the list of mods that could not be reverted back to stock when I purchased the car: - Varis Arising II Front Bumper - Varis Arising II FRP Front Lip - Varis Arising II FRP Side Skirts - Varis Arising II FRP Rear Bumper - Varis Arising II Rear CF Air Shrouds - Varis CF Euro GT Wing 1580mm with CF Stands - Valenti Revo Full Red Sequential Taillights - Valenti Fourth Brake Light - T1R Overpipe - Koyorad Race Radiator - ORC Light Series Clutch with Lightened Flywheel - TSS Shift Knob - Spoon Wide Rear View Mirror My plan is to take this car to Global Time Attack and participate in enthusiast class. As I live up in BC, a track day at a track equivalent to Buttonwillow would cost me upwards of 350USD just for 4-5 20 minute sessions. Global time attack for me is a way for a filthy casual like me to get some less expensive seat time, delve deeper into motor sports, drive on amazing tracks, and get to experience time attack while saving lots of dollars for all the other car related things I want to do. 2019 Mod List: Exterior - Varis Arising II Front Bumper - Varis Arising II FRP Front Lip - Varis Arising II FRP Side Skirts - Varis Arising II FRP Rear Bumper - Varis Arising II Rear CF Air Shrouds - Valenti Revo Full Red Sequential Taillights - Valenti Fourth Brake Light Engine/Exhaust/Drivetrain - T1R Overpipe - Koyorad Race radiator - ORC Light Series Clutch with lightened flywheel - Tomei 60r catback - GReddy Circuit Spec oil cooler Interior - TSS shift knob - Spoon wide rear view mirror - Works Bell 62mm hub adapter - Personal Trophy Suede 350mm Suspension/Footwork/Chassis/Brakes - Fortune Auto 500 coilovers 8k/9k - Verus CNC aluminum rear lower control arms - Carbotech XP10 brake pads - Eibach camber bolts - Advan RG3 bronze - GT Radial Champiro SX2 Alignment - -2.5 Front - .1" total toe Front - -1.6 Rear - 0 toe rear So far in 2019 I've sold the wing, installed the GReddy oil cooler, lower control arms, steering wheel + hub, and gotten a corner balance + alignment. For data i'm using the XGPS160 Dual SkyPro 10hz GPS Receiver paired with RaceChrono on my phone. I'm considering an Aim Solo DL if my wallet says yes. My plans for the rest of 2019 include moving to carbotech XP10 pads from stoptech sport performance pads, cooling mods in preparation for FI, and moving to 200tw+ tires in the form of GT Radial Champiro SX2 tires. The reason i'm not going below 220tw is because enthusiast class is limited to >220tw tires. I want to spend my seat time at the same grip level as when i'll be participating at GTA. For long term goals I want to run some sort of FI once i'm happy with where my driver level is at with stock power. I've been doing some research and I have my eyes set on the GReddy T518Z kit. Currently my car sits at 55.6%/44.4% front/rear weight distribution. Probably with aero, or weight reduction I want to hit something along the lines of 45%/55% front/rear weight distribution. So far I've done 3 track days at Mission Raceway and hit a 01:21:95 on Indy 500 tires. This year I'll be going to Mission, and The Ridge. The goal is to be at GTA Buttonwillow in 2020. I would appreciate any advice or feedback! If you would like more updates on the build, would like to check out another time attack BRZ build being done by my brother, or would like to check out our daily Evo 7 build please take a gander at our Instagram page!
