There is no disputing that the Miata Is Always The Answer, but with the price disparity, one should expect the Boxster to be more luxury/GT and the MX-5 to be lacking much of it.

Truly just a numbers game though, more power, more weight.. more luxury, more dollars.. More telescoping steering wheels(barring 2019), more cup holders.

I will boldface everything for you from now on.

I think the Genesis coupe is crap. I'd take a Mustang over it any day.

Well, it sounds like you are getting it narrowed down. My suggestion is that if you want a roadster, get an MX5, if you want a coupe, get an 86.

Fair but to the MX5's credit it also weights considerably less at around 2300 pounds. It probably doesn't need massive brakes in the rear so long it doesn't upset the brake bias.

Well considering the $3,770 before tax I think the consumer should at least get 4 brembos. Granted it comes with new wheels and for some reason that package also includes heated leather seats. Seems like a price gouge when they start bundling random things together in an optional bundle.

I actually really like the MX-5. However when I look at what it costs to buy one. Then the realization that all it can really do is transport two passengers and a couple grocery bags at max capacity. The idea goes out the window.
