was the ecu reset on the stock car making the IAM 0.7 when the run was done ?
did you monitor IAM on stock car ? was it 1 for run ?

stock car on 91 or 93

I can bring some color here.

I always fill up with 93 at sonoco, sheetz or BJ's (like Costco or Sam's club).

Temp: Cold but not below freezing. I'd say mix forty degrees?

Yes its a 2015 series blue. Only mods (not power related) before the add of the header are:

Perrin rear shifter bushing
Whiteline transmission combo
17x9 enkei rpf1

Can you explain ECT? Did a quick Google and found nothing.

ECT comes from the Latin - ec tecera - meaning "misspelled et cetera."

yep typo ment etc

they must have done more work on tune as last year their shop car did 200hp (40hp gain)and that was with full 3" header back exhaust as well

usually stock cars get about 170 or so but all dynos are different, fuel plays a big part on stock cars as the ecu is very agressive in pulling timing on stock tune with low quality fuel especially 91. was more interested in stock car conditions :-)

autos read lower than manuals in most cases and rearly new cars can read low as well

The car that we baselined ran 93 octane and was daily driven without an ECU reset, so the IAM was at 1.0 at the time. The random bone stock cars that show up for our dyno day events put down similar numbers too.

We actually made quite a few dyno runs above the 200 whp mark. Talking with our tuner Toan, he's telling me that largest gains can be made through extensive tuning of the cam timing. However, this needs to be done with custom written RaceROM maps that allow you to make live changes to the cam timing. Doing so enables you to quantify the difference in the dynograph between back to back dyno runs without the need for a reflash between runs.

This car was tuned on 93 octane at around 50-55deg F as measured in the dyno room at the time of tuning. Our dyno is always set to run without any X or other correction/fudge factors.

I can vouch for the stock dyno btw. My stock fr-s on 93 made 161hp and 129tq on the P-Tuning dyno. If i find my dyno sheet ill post it.

This header appears to have a huge amount of low end torque compared to the Ace 4-2-1 Header.

To the poster saying this isn't a daily driver header, it looks like the perfect one with torque that peaks early, drops a bit but stays flat across.

I was gonna get the Edelbrock SC but held off pending CARB cert, considered the ACE 4-2-1 but they discontinued stock, looked into the Gruppe-S UEL but worries of highway drone put a stop to that, and now there's this PTuning header.

I can't think of any reason why I wouldn't want this header aside from having to dtich my OFT to go to Ecutek for tuning (which just adds to the overall cost ugh).

I'll have 30 pages to read tomorrow if work is slow, hopefully those answers above are in there somewhere haha.

I think ptuning was offering OFT users a flash. I recall seeing that on a different thread.

As the owner of that car with the 207 pull, I can tell you that the torque is most definitely there and daily drives very well.

The extra passing power helps and it's more fun to drive. Period. When I first got the car I drove it at nine tenths all the time. Now it's still 9/10s but I gotta watch the speedo more. Kinda reminds me of my cbr600rr, with only four wheels.

All said I went with ptuning due to their customer reputation and it's no lie. They care about their customer and informing them of their product. Toan is highly educated at a state school and could speak volumes about how he approaches tuning the car. Not pushing koolaid here. Just talking about my experience. Ymmv. Good luck with whatever you decide to go with.

Cheers

Dan

@shdobxr

Your peak torque is 14lbft greater than the dyno shown on the front page. Could weather, conditions and tune factor into that large a difference?

Definitely cool to know there is an OFT tune out there, although I'm sure it won't give performance near what you got though haha.

Do you notice any metallic rasp / sharp sounding noise around 4k? A lot of EL tunes optimize the exhaust tables (not sure the correct term here) to help minimize the torque dip, curious if this modicfication is also present in your tune.

It wasn't that cold during the pull. Earlier comments from Freddie said something like 45-55 F. Perhaps with a FI build you could see justifications for the high up. But this is just the header. Nothing else. Perhaps it was my magical hands installing it that made the extra HP. 😎 kidding.

As far as the metallic noise. Cold starts it's noticeable. But not for very long. Seems to be around 2-3k zone. It's brief when the car is warm. Not annoying at all. It's the 2nd cat sucking in more exhaust. I know that Toan adjusts many things but the cam timing is crucial. Hence the large gain. Be warned if you are <2014 year build. As earlier makes had issues with the cam locking up. This "bug" seems to be fixed in 2015 build.
