The car is being e-tuned by a very respected etuner for this platform.
I know they work. They work well at their respective goal. I just think your chosen header and the power blocks are working towards different goals.
It's like putting on hockey skates and grabbing a basketball to try and score a touchdown.

.. OR with one somewhat improving weak points of another. Of course preferably one should dyno-check what actually happens with mixing something improving mostly low-mid rpm power at expense of dropped top rpm performance with something focusing on top rpms. IIRC Shiv with his header + BPB at the end after retuning got overall gains with losses at top somewhat minimized. Will it be possible with PTuning header aswell, no clue.

Ill go ahead and post the dyno to confirm what you are saying. I believe the BPBs help out tremendously to bring peak points lower and quicker in the rev range.

Like I said, there is hopefully much juice left in this tune...we shall see. I'm betting theres a bunch of "false knock" that my logging is showing, thus the etune is dialed back a bit

The graph below is my car "Andrew". I am trying to get in touch with "Louie". He is local to the Atlanta area, Louie/Louis Aberra. I want to find out what mods he has done to his car so I can get a better idea of gains on this specific dyno.

My headers arrived last week exactly as promised, the customer service and e-mail communication from PTuning has been excellent thus far. The headers look very pretty as you can see below.

I'm getting them installed on July 7th at EFI Logics in Brookfield, CT along with a Motiv over pipe, Motiv hfc front pipe, Perrin 2.5 res catback and a Perrin inlet tube. The car is currently stock except for a K&N drop in filter. I am paying extra to have EFI do a baseline dyno so I can share the true gain of these mods along with the tune.

I'll definitely update here again with the numbers. I'm very excited to no longer daily drive a stock BRZ. 230-240bhp BRZ with no torque dip should be very nice and exactly what this car needed from day one.

What type of tune will you be going with?

I'm almost positive it's ECUTek, but it was a very quick call I had with Efi last week to make the appointment between meetings while I was traveling for work so I could be mistaken. I'll get all the details while I'm there, I will also be mentioning the cam timing adjustments that I saw talked about in this thread.

FYI there is still a torque valley between 3K and 4K with these.

To the defense of the headers, the "valley" still has a higher wTq than nearly all of the other headers on the market. So even though there may be a dip, that in no way is decreasing your performance.

Does anyone have an OFT tune for this header?

I doubt it, but i guess that you can inquire them after buying it as to what timings they needed to set specific to this header in ecutek, and try applying it in OFT yourself ..

I finally got around to installing my header this weekend along with the Delicious stage 2 flex fuel tune. With the Swift Racing Technologies header back exhaust, its LOUD. I don't feel a torque abyss, it just keeps making power and pulls really well up top - which is what equal length headers do. I might be putting the stock exhaust back on the car because of the volume though.

Mine got a bit of a make-over yesterday afternoon.....on a sidenote, my infamous 2400-3100rpm horrible rattle went away after doing this!

For those of you running this header, what exhausts are you running? I'm thinking about getting the Nameless downpipe and running the stock exhaust off of that. I can't stand the rasp/swarm of bees noise the SRT exhaust has now.

If you do go for a Nameless Front/Overpipe, get the unresonated version. I have the old style resonated and it pings a bit. High quality gas tends to reduce the noise a lot.

Currently, I'm running 2.5" Perrin resonated and couldn't be happier with the sound. There's no drone and you can listen to music while on a long drive.
