Again, check the manual and understand what this rev indicator means....

Check page 197 of the manual. There is an upshift indicator next to the gear position indicator that indicates when you should upshift for best fuel efficiency. The shift indicator on page 196 that is programmable is the red flashing light in the middle of the tach. Watch the video near where the gear numbers are and you will see the little flashing triangle.

Please see the above.

yes, you are right. I was thinking about rev indicator as you are talking about the shift-up indicator. The shift-up indicator can only be on-off mode.

Ya a bit odd that VSC looked ON on the BRZ. It'd be great to have a confirmation that it can be turned off on the BRZ, because there seem to be reports of some issues with it on that car.

Suddenly I wish I spoke Japanese lol.

Tsuchiya sure looked like he was having more fun than the others in that first vid.

You can really see what the differences in suspension tune between the 2 did to the handling here - BRZ more stable with initial understeer, FR-S initially more neutral but then has a tendency to hang it out a little when you put the power down post-apex. I'll take the FR-S for the fun ratio. When I want to play it safe I'll just leave the TC/VSC in Sport mode!

It seemed to have been blinking at times in both. Weirdly enough, it wasn't blinking always when the 86 was going sideways.

I've seen that blinking in lots of the track test videos when it's all supposed to be off. Can't remember if it was just in BRZ tests though.

■ Turning off both TRAC and Vehicle stability control (VSC) systems
To turn the TRAC and Vehicle stability control (VSC) systems off, press and
hold for more than 3 seconds while the vehicle is stopped.
The Traction Control System OFF indicator light and the Vehicle stability control (VSC) off indicator light will come on.
Press the button again to turn the systems back on.
I don't see those lights I so it looks like the driver didn't turn off VSC and traction control

Edit... After watching again you can barely see a red light on the lower right corner of the gauge camera. Based on this I think they are in VSC sport mode.

Vehicle stability control (VSC) SPORT mode/Normal mode
The “VSC SPORT” indicator and Vehicle stability control (VSC) off indicator come on when in Vehi- cle stability control (VSC) SPORT mode.

Those would be to the right of tach, and aren't visible on the tach camera.

Too high to be 'track off'. It's either 'Sport' or 'vsc off' light. The latter would be weird.
